No, I think the owners just lack the b*lls to take on a deliver such a big project, bankers don't take big risks unless their money is secured. They had the balls to save us from administration. I believe as investment bankers they have to get a deal that will make us investable for the long term.

Walking away is clearly a tactic - I'm delighted to see it, new facilities need to be a long term boost for all aspects of our club, not a short(er) term fix. It's so important, it has to be right for Rovers from a business perspective, not just an emotional perspective.

I believe you're living in false hope and we simply can't get close to what ever the UWE want, if we were calling their bluff to get a better deal why haven't we said that rather than simply saying the deals off to the press. you can't be serious? Why? All SH had to say was the deadline has passed but we've still got a month to sort matters out if the UWE are prepared to still consider our offer, then the whole, blue half, of Bristol would then be demanding the UWE consider the offer, as things stand all the pressure is on Wael to do something the UWE seem to have got away scot free.

Look at Wael's re-tweets. Those who accept or welcome the demise of UWE get re-tweeted those that criticize are just ignored. I think this tells you a lot about the chances of a last ditch deal on UWE. It's a dead parrot... 'I know a dead parrot when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.' The optimists say 'No no he's not dead, he's, he's restin'!'

Would love this to be the case, but I think it's very doubtful. The only chance is for a mediator to step in & see if there is any common ground. S Glos has been very quiet for too long. The project was supposed to generate vast amounts for the area, perhaps they should be the ones to see if it can be salvaged.

Not quite sure they saved us from administration though as that would mean our debts were more than the value of the Mem , did't think we were £11 million plus in debt

I might pop into the Bristol room tomorrow, see if the pics are still up at the bar tomorrow, I reckon they'll be gone to be honest....

Personally, I think that the fact wael hasn't come out and said the whole deal is off (and effectively apologise to the fans in the process) suggests to me that we are trying to improve the deal and negotiations are still ongoing. Wael knows just how important this is for the club and wouldn't leave us feeling this dispondent and frustrated if it weren't for good cause (convincing UWE that we will pull out if it's not the right deal for us.) hamers interview was just enough to scare uwe that we've pulled out entirely but so many of his comments suggested it is still alive... one in particular stands out when talking about uwe: "...and they may well have missed the boat now". If the deal's dead in the water, surely he'd say "and they've missed the boat now". Ah the torture of the forever optimist! Cuckoo land some people most probably! But it is great here! 😀

If I had to have a stab in the dark (which is what we're all reduced to given the fans aren't worthy of an explanation) is that a significant investor backed out and daddy didn't want to make up the shortfall.

Best we can hope for is a 15,000 seater at the mem as we won't get planning permission for much more. But not sure where the income streams to fund it will come from and if spending money on UWE has panicked the family surely the same will apply to any significant development of the mem.

Why on earth is Wael p*ssing around on twitter when he could simply make a proper statement or give a proper interview. Just not good enough.

I would suggest that we not calling their bluff.
However- if things we're to change, I imagine it's possible we become open to the deal. I believe we end up at a redeveloped mem. Fine by me.
I also sense- if this was a 'masterplan' it could never be made public. You can't tell a buisnes partner you played them.
