I feel quite a bit more confident picking the team for Sat than last night but the proof will be in the pudding.
----------------Slocombe-----------
Partington--Lockyer--Sweeney--Brown
---Lines-----O Clarke----Sercombe--
--Bodin--------Ellis------Telford--
I am pretty sure about most of this team. If Sinclair is back fit then I would expect him to play. The ones I am least sure about are probably Brown and Telford. I just have a feeling Telford will play as DC likes to throw a surprise in there.

Are we choosing the team we would pick or the team we think D.C. will pick ?
MY team would be
Slocombe
Brown Sweeney Lockyer Partington
Bola Lines Clarke Moore
Gaffney Nicholls
subs: Harrison ,Telford ,Sercombe , Broadbent , Andre , Bodin , Sinclair.
Nicholls gets three league games to score a goal then Telford starts the games ,CAN NOT have a luke James situation again. Bodin needs a reminder he cant drift and nobody is undropable.
This obviously will not be the team D.C. will pick

Won't happen but I would like to see the lad, who had rave reviews from N County fans, given a chance. Our current defensive issues maybe one reason DC sticks with dependable Browner.

Slocombe Lockyear Sweeney Broadbent Partington Lines Clarke Bola Bodin Sercombe Gaffney Much better more balance to the team and allows more attacking options and looks stronger at the back !

Gaffney scores 2 in 2 home games but you'd start with Harrison who's head seems back in the cloud, after a promising start to the season? Playing 4-3-3 at free scoring Wigan seems a brave move to me but not sure how we fit Lines & Sercs into the team if we go 4-4-2, perhaps we need to "rest" Sercs, or stick him on the left wing for the one game even if he doesn't apparently like playing wide.

Having said that? Ellis is in good form too, so not bothered who starts out of him and Gaffney.

Will be good to see Telford start he deserves his chance!! I hope he does. Byron Moore's name on the team sheet instantly deflates me. And Nichols has had a fair few games now, I think Telford will play a part Saturday but more likely off the bench. It's just a hunch he might start.

something has to change. our away performances (in the lge) suggest we are doing something pretty wrong. Might as well try something totally different. sweeper anyone?

--------------Slocombe ------Lockyer--Sweeney--Broadbent Partington-----------------------Bola -------Sercombe--Clarke--Lines--------- -----------Harrison---Telford---------- Agree with the formation. DC used this often the last couple of seasons and I am surprised he has not used it this season. Especially away to the better sides after we have been leaking too many goals. The only change I would make is personnel by having Bodin and Gafney up top. Telford does deserve a chance but in this formation I would rather see Gafney and Bodin start.

--------------Slocombe ------Lockyer--Sweeney--Broadbent Partington-----------------------Bola -------Sercombe--Clarke--Lines--------- -----------Harrison---Telford---------- I wonder how many times Boradbent has played in a 5 man defence even in his non league career? If we go with a 5 men defence Leads, Parts, Locks, Sweeney, Brown should be good enough, with Broadbent & Bola to come in on Tuesday.

Bodin is our best player, so to drop him to the bench is a big call, but I just feel that side would be ideal against Wigan, with BBB ready to make an impact off the bench if needed. If we went with that side, but with Bodin instead of Telford I wouldn't mind too much - he's a class act.
