Yeah I like the look of him a lot . I'd really like to see Gafney and Telford start in a 4-4-2 this Saturday. The problem with 4-4-2 is that Moore comes back in to the side. We are currently carrying too many underachievers in the first team squad. Balls to Moore, Browner left back Bola left wing. 4 - 4 - 2 here we come!

I thought Moore looked lively (yes I said lively!!) against Blackpool until he got taken off, certainly one of the few looking to take on his man,
Is there any reason Telford cannot play on the left?
Telford has played on the left in the past I believe. See here: www.transfermarkt.com/dom-telford/leistungsdaten/spieler/333782/plus/0?saison=2014

I love it when you say stuff like this, usually turns said player/manager etc into gold lMO, Nichols is a skilful players, but with no strength or speed and with no goals to his name so far this term deserves to be dropped. The problem is we do not have any natural goalscorers.

Can we afford to have strikers playeing who don't even look like scoring, especially as we tumble down the table?
I'd sooner have Gaffney playing with Ellis (not in a 4-4-3!!) and Nichols can come on as sub like he did at Bradford and look to have an impact, then if he starts impressing more he may start.
The ironic thing is that Nichols is probably on more money than both his strike partners. 4-4-3 is the way forward.... means we can have a red card and keep 11 on the pitch

I think Telford could do a job on the left but he definitely looks more a striker to me. His movement and pace alongside a big man could be lethal.

But if we never start him we'll never know, plus Nichols coming on and running at a tiring defence maybe just what he needs to get his season going. What happened to Gaffney on Tuesday, is he now out injured or just ill on Tuesday? Smith Parts Locks Broadbent Bola Clarke Lines Sercombe Bodin Gaffney (if fit) Telford Sweeney's missing next week so lets get Broadbent ready now rather than throw him in the deep end again.

All this 'could a job' nonsense wouldn't be necessary if we had just brought in a decent left sided player in the window. I'm sorry, but it still rankles

Big fan of DC but to let Monty go and not replace him is inexcusable. Telford would probably be better than on the right than left as he is left footed I believe? I'd like us to play 2 up front but not sure how we could do that but alao suit the rest of the team.

Yeah, Telford would probably be better on the right, where he has also played before, but even better in a front two, but like you intimated, it probably wouldn't suit the rest of the team without a quality left sided player and a proper defensive midfielder.

I wonder how something like this would work:
___________Slocombe __Lockyer___Sweeney__Broadbent Sincs____Clarke____Sercombe__Bola _____________Bodin
And then any two of our four strikers up top.

Every time he plays well he gets dropped ‘back’ to the bench!

Perhaps thats the reason why he has had less minutes on pitch due to his back problems ?

To be fair he is being played out of position. Nichols is the sort of striker who plays off a target man, but DC is generally going 4-3-3 and it doesn't suit his game. He will come good. No way would £300k be spent if he wasn't worth the money.
I remember Rickie Lambert being slow and looking so out of place that he was dropped to warm the bench and the rest is history.

Tom was unlucky again today, thought he showed some moments of class though. One pass he played behind him to BB without even looking says to me he's got great awareness.
