They don't deserve abuse but equally they need to be strongly reminded that their attendance equates to support for a competition which threatens the long term interests of Bristol Rovers and the Football League. It's that simple. I get that some people are determined to support the club no matter what, and it's admirable on many levels. However I would urge those people to consider whether they want to see our club face the likes of Swansea, Stoke or even Bristol City U23 on a Saturday at 3pm. If the answer is no, and they are against the idea of B/U23 clubs being introduced to lower league competitions, the only way to meaningfully vote against it is not to attend. Ultimately if this experiment, trial, whatever you want to call it is rejected by supporters through non attendance or engagement, the potential for U23 teams to be rolled out beyond the Checkatrade Trophy will certainly be limited. I really hope we send a big statement by our attendance against West Ham U23 and send a message that we against and will not tolerate B/U23 teams entering Football League competitions. The choice is yours. Choose carefully. Also bear in mind Harvey actually tried on a number of occasions to manipulate and deceive in regard to the attendance figures, so every person through the turnstiles is one more little sperm* coming out of Harvey's cock as he wanks over the imaginary success of his competition. *metaphorically, obviously. Is that language really necessary? I , and I shouldn't be suprised really, expected better from a moderator especially since moderators have warned posters against calling people offensive names. How about offensive language? Isn't that the same thing? Perhaps its a duel standard thing like being a supporter for watching a Gas game and being a scab not a supporter at the next game.

That’s why this competition has become a sticky mess. I hope West Ham go through in the league cup. Our game with them for whatever reason gets p-p or even better abandoned in the 70th minute to waste the scabs time (at least you’ll get to watch it again for free) and it causes a bit of scheduling nightmare for the fa. Rubbish competition. BOYCOTT.

Ah well, I was just trying to be funny without being offensive, I guess I missed the mark, so my apologies.

Can we please drop the 'scab' labelling....
Argue your point sensibly, people do contact the mods that are genuinely offended by this....

The "boycott" has been seriously undermined by the clubs voting to retain the current format albeit with some relaxing of selection criteria for league 1/2 clubs.

Why would anybody want to spend hard earned watching the irons youth ? Thing is, a lot of the "U23" sides play a number of 30+ year olds! Really helping the future of the England national team!

Exactly. The ridiculous rationale initially provided for the competition was massively exposed when the invited clubs started playing over 30's from all corners of the earth.

Ah yes, it's that time again. Hasn't this been done to death now. The fact is Rovers have to play in the competition and fans will want to go. we know some hate the competition but others will want to go.

The fact is Rovers have to play in the competition and fans will want to go. we know some hate the competition but others will want to go. Thankfully a lot of people aren't prepared to sit back and passively accept lower league football being tinkered with to accommodate offshoots of the financially bloated Premier League machine. There will some who want to go but aren't aware of what this fixture constitutes and the impact supporting it may have on the future of lower league football. From that point of view it's important that it continues to be discussed and the implications highlighted.

The future of this club is in good hands, i'm sure my little contribution will make no difference eitherway i just take my lead from all the league chairman who voted in favour of this competition.
