This farce has become a bigger farce in my opinion. I understood their (and other premier league teams) entry into the competition was to enable their younger "English" under 23's to play first team football. Strange then (polite way of stating it) that the fixture against the Gas has had to be rearranged due to the West Ham first team playing in the "League Cup (Caraboa?) on the original scheduled date. Thus it means I presume that these young player will be playing in the League Cup so not only does this setup mean the "Checkatrade Cup" lower league cup is devalued by Premier League team under 23's inclusion they are devaluing the Caraboa Cup as well by playing them there. They also cheat by playing over age and foreign players in the Checkatrade. How can it be that 20 Prem clubs can manipulate the other 72 clubs. Oh I know MONEY, football has been sold down the river along with it's soul. Scrooge is alive and well within football. If the Gas ever get to the promised land of the Prem it will be a bitter sweet pill to swallow. UTG but only to the Championship for now please.

One rule for the big boys and another for the minnows. Mickey Mouse competition anyway, and a total farce.

It was announced couple weeks ago. I haven't seen anyone mention it till now and was hoping no one would, in the hope the people attending wouldn't have known the date change and wasted their time. Seconds out. DING DING.

How about under the belt abuse or money laundering? Why would you wash your money? Doesn't it come out all funny and scrunched up? Nooo the 5's & 10's are fine now, they are plastic. Give them a good old wash, no problem. The competition- total bollox.

As it stands only West Ham and Swansea are under 21s in the top two in all the groups (North and South). Several are guaranteed to be knocked out already without fulfilling their last fixture.
At this rate there may only be 3 or 4 under 21s in the next round.
Can Liam Sercombe get a Wembley hat trick? He scored last year in the final last year and Oxford reached the last two finals.
With our development team doing so well we should have a fair chance. Support the club and let's get to Wembley with Geoff's kids leading us out.

Might be worth a watch and see how good the West Ham young uns are. Might be a few rough diamonds there available for loan.

True, I noticed that, but it is a gas game and supporters who go dont deserve abuse.
Boycott? just what effect did last years boycot achieve, none, so why bother?

True, I noticed that, but it is a gas game and supporters who go dont deserve abuse. Boycott? just what effect did last years boycot achieve, none, so why bother? They don't deserve abuse but equally they need to be strongly reminded that their attendance equates to support for a competition which threatens the long term interests of Bristol Rovers and the Football League. It's that simple. I get that some people are determined to support the club no matter what, and it's admirable on many levels. However I would urge those people to consider whether they want to see our club face the likes of Swansea, Stoke or even Bristol City U23 on a Saturday at 3pm. If the answer is no, and they are against the idea of B/U23 clubs being introduced to lower league competitions, the only way to meaningfully vote against it is not to attend. Ultimately if this experiment, trial, whatever you want to call it is rejected by supporters through non attendance or engagement, the potential for U23 teams to be rolled out beyond the Checkatrade Trophy will certainly be limited. I really hope we send a big statement by our attendance against West Ham U23 and send a message that we against and will not tolerate B/U23 teams entering Football League competitions. The choice is yours. Choose carefully.
