Don't go tonight put the future of lower league football first I'm not going. Its Mrs OG's birthday and she'd rather go to the theatre than the theatre of dreams. women, eh!

Don't go tonight put the future of lower league football first I'm 50/50 on going but that's only because I've not been able to go to a game for 2 months due to work.If I was going week in week out then I'd give it a miss, but I fancy going to watch the Gas and I'm off tonight so I'm thinking about it. The FA put there middle finger up to the fans regards to this cup by continuing it on this season after last year's embarrassment of crowds. It's abit over the top to say that this cup format will kill the lower league game off, as the crowds will remain as low as they are and money talks and in 2/3 seasons it will go back to the old style JPT due to this reason.

It all seems like a good idea[not going]. But the lower league clubs that need saving voted to keep the premier/championship teams in the competition which makes a joke of not going out of protest imo.

I am going to pop down just to have a look at the West Ham side and see if the competition is worthy of having Prem teams in it. I didn't go at all last year.

But have a good night Henbury. Every time you look at all the empty spaces on the terrace, remember those who would love to be out watching football tonight but have put the future of the club and lower league football first.

Was almost tempted as it pains me not going to home games when I live so close to the Mem. However I will not be a part of this farce.

I know there are rules regarding changes from saturday but im hoping some of our own young players feature. Like broom,menayese,dunwald or russe. I believe the rules were relaxed slightly compared to last years. Especially after the farce of players being subbed off after the first minute! In my opinion our entire central midfield could do with a rest after playing so many games.

The competition should be given so little relevance it shouldn't even have a thread dedicated too it imo

And as usual for this competition, let's try to keep it civil, and thanks for doing that so far.

I've found the competition rules with regards to the players;
- Full Available Strength means EFL clubs must include at least four qualifying players in the ten outfield players named in their starting XI. - The four qualifying players must either (a) start the preceding fixture (b) start the fixture immediately after (c) be in the top ten of appearance makers for the club so far that season (d) have made forty or more first team starting appearances in their career to date.
So assuming everyone, like me, wants as few as possible first team players playing, who would you pick (bearing in mind the above rules)?
My guess at the four qualifying players would be to play Smith in Goal (because he hasn't played that much anyway so cannot be tired!) I am assuming Moore and Partington have started more than forty first team games in their careers? Is Sweeney in our top ten appearance makers this season? Without looking into it I am not sure. If not then maybe Broadbent should play again and be classed as the fourth qualifying player. I assume this then lets us make up the rest of the squad with other fringe and youth players?
