Harrison has said that when he was younger he was affected by what he read on forums and heard from fans.
Footballers aren't machines they are people like us at the end of the day and can be affected by what they hear.

I just dont agree that players are affected by stuff on football forums, facebook etc and if they are they may as well pack the game in now. All were seeing on here and on facebook as well as the media is a reflection of how the modern world is. Its the same all over the country including at matches where people routinely walk out well before the end or boo etc. Its just the way it is now. DC literally said everyone at the club is working hard to move us forward from the players to the owners,he then alluded to the fact that negativity is fuelled by results and the stuff on social media, you may not think it’s thats serious but when you see Linesys partner tweeting saying that some fans have wished death on their daughter you can probably say that it does have an overall effect on the squad. Can we just drop this now? We’ve now had the manager and our senior pro pretty much confirm the negativity is the crap on social media. Until there’s something on the clubs site saying we are in administration it’s probably best to just support the lads on the pitch every Saturday and help them come through this blip.

The bigger the club the worse it gets imo .

The bigger the club the worse it gets imo . We beat MK Dons in the last home game so to say negativity is leading to poor results at Mem seems a weak excuse, plus there were only 2,000 fans on Wednesday anyway. Added to that we've been poor away from home since the first game at Charlton!

Referees and linesmen too are not impervious to malicious comments.I reffed at Chester once and used to put a load of talcum powder in my underpants to avoid my thighs chaffing.Having overdone it when I ran out with my linesmen, the Talcum was spraying effusivley and one female in the crowd shouted,'Slow down Ref,your balls are on fire!!! One of the more amusing pieces of advice I was given.

I can only assume it was silly school children saying such things to the daughter and not adults. Its not good either way but any adult found doing this should instantly get life bans from the club. Not acceptable.

[br I know what you are saying and such people need to be dealt with. But is this really a football incident? They could be dealt with by way of a police caution, made to make a personal apology to the Lines family, or even summat stronger but why should they be banned from the club? Just asking the question.

If you take that to the furthest logical conclusion, if someone were to make a death threat to the family of a player, should they be free to return to the Mem after they'd served their time in prison?

So the bad news bears on here are damaging team morale too? Intersting question, but I'd say definitley yes. Even if DC and others at the club aren't open to pickling their own eyeballs (and I bet a few do), they will know or be close to people that do, mates / WAGs etc. So it is bound to have a seep over, and that is even before you take account of the ones that communicate with the few that are are on social media directly. Some of the tweets to Wael for example are a bit embarrassing in my view, but social media seems to give permission to keyboard warriors to say what they want to people they dont know; its the way thing are. And we know a fair few of them use it so the idea they are un affected I simply don't buy Of course it does have an affect like you say. This is why all those rumours and hear say are not only embarrassing but also hurtful to the club. If somebody knows something which they’re absolutely 100% sure about and they tell it in here then that’s one thing but the vicious rumours and gossip that some have put on here only damages the club. The thing that really wateres me off is that it’s those same people that come out with the “ clubs rotton to the core “ kind of statements when things go wrong. It’s almost as if they revel in the damage that they’re causing. Some of the time it reminds me of the kind of sh** stirring girls get up to when three is a crowd.

Can't be fecked to read all this thread one page and people are defending losing 4 2 twice to teams from a division below and asking for relegation. If DC and Wael read this forum they must laugh at what an easy gig running Bristol Rovers is with its apathetic fanbase No they’re probably reading it thinking most of our fan base are genuine supporters but some are sneaky little bitches that want to tear up what they’re trying to do.

Unfortunately the Gas motto faithful and true is lost on some and they’re actually quite the opposite. Geoff Dunford will be turning in his grave at some of the crap posted on here these last couple of weeks. UTG Come on you blues

Some of the insults I have seen towards him, myself and my child are horrific! That is a tweet from Chris Lines partner...no coincidence that linesy has bombed twitter off. I think it’s time we press a reset button and do what we do best and that’s get behind the lads and help breed some confidence! That is disgusting that some of our own so called fans are doing that. Shame on them. Appalling behaviour
