Surely Bodin's time at Rovers is nearly up. What do we think will happen with him? Go in Jan for a fee (if so, how much?) or lose him in the summer for nothing? More pointless speculation, the fat lady ain’t singing yet as he may sign a new contract. Stranger things have happened! Wishful thinking.

If he goes he goes ~ no poi.t worrying about it. As a lower league club we will always lose our best players to clubs in the higher divisions.

We will but what disappoints me is yet again we will be losing a star player for peanuts. If he was offered what he was 4 weeks ago, this time last year then maybe he would have a 3 year contract instead we are in a desperate situation where we will be lucky to get a packet of peanuts for him.

With a pack of pork scratchings in the sell-on clause I would hope....

That was based on me thinking "enbury" was winding people up; and that you had missed his connotation. Not so sure now on the wind up init

Seems fairly clear from the Post that Bodin would like to stay. He feels loved here. He obviously doesn't address what the offer is but DC says that contract negotiations have been going on for almost a year (contradicting Hamer) and strongly suggests that our offer to Bodin is nowhere near what he's worth.

Have got to say, just listened to the interview and Bodin does not sound like a man desperate to leave. We will wait and see but I think Bodin will stay around for a bit longer. A fantastic player to base a squad around if he stays and if not I hope the owners will stay true to their word and fund a decent replacement.

I agree axegas. BB is a supremely talented player. He was a youngster at Swindon who was on loan at Torquay, did very well and went back to Swindon. He was so unlucky with injuries some of which really threatened his career. He had achieved very little and tried to make a go at Northampton and that didn’t work out. So when he came here in ‘15 after a career spoiled by injuries it was probably his last chance to make it in the league. Fail here and he would spend the rest of his career kicking around League 2 or probably non league. That he has had the best two and a half seasons in his career speaks volumes about how we suit the way he plays and of course vice versa. So I think he will know he owes BRFC a great debt for rescuing his career and giving him what he knows has been a great few years. Of course I’m optimistic but at the same time I always think players want to play and BB knows he will do that here. Of course it’s all about money it’s a short career. But after all he’s gone through I think he will be aware of the good match between us and him and I wouldn’t think it was impossible to get him to sign a new contract. If he chooses not to then fair enough he goes but I would rather he goes in the Summer for free after securing us our place in League 1 because whatever we got for him in January, and it wouldn’t be much, wouldn’t match the cost of losing our place in League 1. UTG!

Its no coincidence that January is coming quick and managers are out looking at players and D.C. makes a statement about how low wages the Rovers boys get. Its him saying pay B.B. a decent league one wage and he will stay. If Plymouth offer him more money why would he stay at Rovers ?

All players say they love their current club.....until another club offers to double their wages. And I don't mind that. None of us would turn down the opportunity to earn twice as much doing the same job.
