Let’s be fair to Wael.... his family purchased a dead duck. He was probably instrumental in agreeing to buy rovers and herring his family to release the money to do so. He/They did not carry out proper due dillagence of the stadium deal - had they, they would have moved on to the next target. NH and co sold them a dud. Pulling out of UWE was the right move. Now Wael’s family are probably watching him closely and restricting g his spending. After all, they probably thought they were buying a turn key club that just needed some cash to get players as the new Staduim was financed and ready to go! This whole rebuilding process was never in their plans. Just my thoughts Higgs and co never sold anyone a dud. Someone was trying to emulate his mate at Chelsea with someone else’s money and they pulled out. It really is that simple. IMO.

Not going to listen to the interview but reading the comments I have to applaud Wael for 100% buying into the ethos of Bristol Rovers. Talk big, deliver a lick of paint, another 10 years of goodwill garnered.

Come on, nobody say they've never sold a car whilst secretly hoping the buyer doesn't notice the funny noise coming from the engine bay during the test drive.

Insulting interview, complete contempt for the fanbase, we are being taken for idiots. Go now please. Thankyou for your constructive comments. Did you enjoy the game today and what did you think of the team performance?

You are doing Wael and his family a big unjust here, they are very experienced investment bankers aren’t they? They haven’t been hood winked, not for one second. They knew what they were buying. The returns for their investors was the problem.

Let's be realistic here: The stadium may well be developed in much the same way as the training ground seems to be - a phased approach. The east stand will probably be the first to be developed, hence the need to move the club shop so that revenue continues throughout the build. He's been at the club a very short time and a lot of fans are expecting a brand new stadium within the new year. It just doesn't happen like that. It's hard enough getting planning permission on a house or an extension, let alone a football stadium slap bang in the middle of a residential area. Cool your jets, nothing here so concerning it needs worrying about (yet!). Cheers Hani.

A question for the doubters, what's the alternative to the ALQ's, as I personally can't see anything better on the horizon.

I read it on the internet, so there must be some truth in it.

Midweek DC interview was the catalyst for this update. IMO funding an issue until new prospective investors are found until then new crappers and a new portacabin best we can hope for. All a bit disappointing but actually like Wael. Given his business acumen I still trust him in the long term to provide us with a sustainable future if he is not willing to sell his holding.

From a Top 6 budget (Hamer) to a bottom 6 budget...
From an £8m training complex next summer (Hamer) to 4 pitches and a Portaloo the following summer.
From the landing lights at UWE (Hamer) to the Mem rebuild... to the worst bit for me... potentially building stand by stand. Which means we will be hampered even more by lack of space. Replace the best seats, a terrace and the largest capacity side with a similar sized stand. Two small stands replace the South/West Stands, and the people who enjoy the atmosphere and terrace behind the goal get lumbered with an all seater stand. If it ever happens, I starting to hope it doesn't TBH.
If they can't do it properly, actively find someone else to. It's all well and good taking time to do this stuff, but constantly watering down and questions as to whether any of it will get done, is simply not good enough. And give Steve Hamer the boot, he is largely responsible for the negativity around the club at the moment.
Optimism and ambition is everything, without it...

Full marks for doing the interview even if very guarded, feel a little sorry for the guy, so perhaps a cut-back training ground in a couple of years, no redevelopment for the foreseeable future and perhaps a little money for DC in January. Could be worse I suppose but a win today makes things feel a little better. Guess if we can sustain league 1 then I'm ok with it but not what I hoped for a year ago.

Yep under the current board surviving in league 1 is the objective, that's fine if we have a great manager (we do) if you don't? Problems.. I truly believe bollocks to tactics or shape winning teams win because they respond to the manager or not
