I think hes been much better for rovers than most people think. He is a team player and has followed instructions which didnt suit his game in many matches but being a good professional has got on with it. I dont think its been easy for any of the new players because several established regulars have struggled badly which hardly helps the new boys. Im not pretending that hes been a success just predicting he will be and very soon. Please enlighten me? From what I have seen he offers us next to nothing. For me its a bit like ellis last season, not great or consistent enough but still contributing for the team. Clearly he needs some goals and i think there just around the corner but time will tell.

Peterborough replaced him with Jack Marriott, paid for from the fee recieved for Nichols, who has got 17 league goals this year and will inevitably attract large bids from teams higher up the footballing pyramid. Nichols on the other hand would probably go for less than half the money that we paid Peterborough, to some L2 club if he doesn't improve dramatically in the next 10-15 games. Very disappointing, especially when you see Peterborough getting millions for their top players. We will be lucky to get 750k for Taylor and Bodin combined.

Marriott is already reportedly attracting interest from clubs in the Championship. I've rated him ever since he scored 26 goals for Ipswich's U18/U21 sides and made his first-team debut for them in the Championship. I wanted him for us when he went on loan to Woking and even suggested Luton might be prepared to do business when they started sniffing around James Collins. It won't be long before he steps up.

Not really true, Ellis is great this year and has always hinted at getting better but he has been terrible at some points in his time with the Gas. The snake was terrible for long enough but he came very good in the end, the boy should be doing better but maybe he might just surprise us yet, I agree time is running out for him, nobody would want to admit they p'd away a load of money, so I can see why DC keeps trying with him. He is a good footballer but lacks guts, that can be put in him ! I would loan him out to a Conference side and beef him up a bit and try to gain confidence, if that fails.........He is next years dog food.

He missed some sitters yes but even before then you could see his touch and brain was of a quality player. Also at least he worked hard when he wasn't scoring.

How long did it take for him to score at a regular rate and how many one on one chances did he miss ? Even at the end he missed those on a regular basis. He was terrible at the start, great at the end but he still missed those 'easy' ones.

This time next year you will all be worship the ground he walks on Sadly I can't see him signing for City and spearheading their quest for relegation.

Similar to your views on TN when he signed? GGMI thinks Nichol would be a great signing

Liverpool have paid 75 million to-day for a defender. Now if they sign Nicholls for the same amount it will pay for a new stadium.

He will come good. We just need to show a bit more patience. He shows good awareness. If Darrell wants the best out of him though he needs to be playing in his rightful position.

A League 2 outfit might be a more suitable move.

Half the time when we’ve got the ball Nichols is just walking about not even looking the right way. He’s got no strength no movement , no hunger, bottles 50/50s and looks like a kid playing in a mans match every time I’ve seen him. I hope he comes good because DC spent the majority of his transfer funds in the summer on him and I’m not convinced he’s going to get another 300 odd grand to have another go next month on someone else.
