22 league games left and i predict tom nichols will score at least 10 goals between now and the end of the season which will be a big factor in helping us to avoid relegation. Technically very good, quick and hard working his luck is sure to change soon and im confident it will. Maybe we should start thinking about our next gaschat scapegoat now because we will need a new villain imo. Ps...if he gets an injury my prediction will be revised depending on how many games he misses.

To be honest I've been drinking a bit over Christmas but not enough to see this coming. Is there some kind of magic tipple I've missed?

I don't know if you're taking the water or what, but Nichols has only scored 12 goals in his last 72 League One games, so I highly doubt he will suddenly miraculously manage 10 in 22.

This time next year he will be partnering Karry Hane up front for England.

Tom Nichols should buy Byron Moore a pint.

Frustrating player. Offers next to nothing, not sure how he started over Gaffney yesterday. Most frustrating thing for me is how he doesn't put himself about enough. Backs out of 50/50 balls all the time.

I`ve seen Roger work harder, after seven hours picking on the ph grid.

Luke James was hard working, not Tom Nichols.

Backs out of 50/50 balls all the time. To be fair to him he has come the closest to scoring in open play in the last two games, in fact is he the only player to force the opposition goalie into making a save? Perhaps alongside a more experienced CF he'd look a different player.

Looking at the highlights: Nichols - one ridiculous long-range shot when we could've mounted a dangerous counter-attack and hit his one -on -one with his right when he should've tried with his left - needs to learn from Gaffers and Harrison who are now comfortable using either foot when a chance presents itself.
Interesting in highlights how Brown didn't stop wide players crossing the ball or getting close to them - you look at his team mates and no-one says a word to him afterwards - there are no leaders and little confidence amongst the players to gee each other up !

Perhaps alongside a more experienced CF he'd look a different player. So first it was because he was playing on the left and now it is because he isn't playing alongside an experienced striker. Not having that. Just excuses. The fact his best moment of the game was missing a decent opportunity says it all I'm afraid.

I agree regarding Brown. He rarely stops a cross. Sad really as I like him, but unfortunately have come to the conclusion that he is at best a League 2 full back.

And when Matty Taylor first joined us a large percentage of this forum said he wasn't cut out for it either, you can't just expect new signings to set the world alight, they need time and encouragement. Frankly the abuse and criticism Nichols has received is nothing short of bullying.
Supporters need to give him a chance.

Some of the criticism is a bit over the top, but from my point of view, I don't see how he can be expected to score 10 in 22 games when you look at his previous record at this level. He is quite a tidy footballer, if a bit lightweight, but doesn't look like a goalscorer to me. I'll be happy if he proves me wrong.
