Being that we appear to be interested in your Billy Bodin- I wondered how good he was. If your chairman has rejected ‘derisory bids’ it’s likely they have come from us as we like to do things on the cheap. Bodin would have to be good enough for a championship play off push, as that is what we are aiming for atm.
As for yourselves good luck for the rest of the reason, it would be nice to see Bristol Rovers in the championship- the Bristol derby would be very interesting. They won’t make the premiership so hopefully you’s can come up soon.

I think his goal tally for an attacking midfielder speaks for itself. He's very dangerous anywhere around the edge of the box.
He is very skillful, and teams often double-up on him to try and stop his threat.
He is at his best when playing on the right, cutting in onto his left. He does he play elsewhere too, but is not the same player when he does.
His contract is up in the summer, and he's had a bad injury in the past - which may be reasons why you might get him "on the cheap".
Obviously I hope he stays. He recently missed a few games for a hamstring injury and I don't think we won any of them!

If he had 2 years on his contract we’d be mad to accept anything less than 4m.
Great player- I’d say it would take over an 1m to get him in Jan despite only having 6 months left.

Why doesn't anyone throw decent money at us, why is ALWAYS derisory bids? Because we have a reputation? Because we don't offer long enough contracts?

Our best player for 2 years by a long shot and better than most I've seen in L1.
He always seems to have time and space despite often being doubled up on.
Likes to play on the right and cut in on his favoured left. This is very common knowledge, yet few teams have been effective in stopping him.
Championship player for sure.
Top end?? Guess time will tell when he leaves.

Shame BB hasn't signed a contract really, i'm sure that all of our supporters would say fair enough if a club comes in and paid an honest/reasonable sum, but this will be another case of another good player, our star player leaving on the cheap.

So £500K is the going rate for a decent striker who's out of contract in the summer?
"Motherwell have agreed to sell top scorer Louis Moult to Preston for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £500,000.
The 25-year-old will move on 1 January and sign a three-and-a-half-year deal with the English Championship side.
The former Stoke trainee scored 18 goals in both the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons and is on 14 for the current campaign, giving him a tally of 50 in 98 appearances for the club.
Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson says the Fir Park club had to consider the pros and cons of selling Moult now or letting his contract run down to the end of the season.
"The player made clear he would not be extending his stay after the end of the season. So when the offer came from Preston, we had to weigh up whether the money would benefit the club against the risk and reward of keeping him and then allowing him to leave on a free," Robinson said.
"We accepted the offer based on that it would be best for all parties now""

There is a possibility that we win a couple of games, climb the table a bit and then the temptation would be to sell Bodin late in the window. I certainly wouldn't let him go now. For instance, say we got 6pts from the next 3 games. We would have 38pts from 29 and would realistically need a point a game until the end of the season to be safe. If you knew he was going anyway the temptation would be to cut your losses, but personally I probably wouldn't have the balls to do it having seen us crumble before.
