Don't forget also that we still have Ellis! Great business done for me. I wouldn’t say great business? I would say more solid business. I believe we will finish just above where we finished last year, which I’m more than happy with. Big game on Saturday it will be interesting to see who starts? Let’s all get down the Mem on Saturday and do our bit too. UTG!

Sack the board, clearly haven't backed the manager Do we know if these were the no1 targets? DC pulled off 2 signings for no fee so not sure how that can be used as an example that he's been supported in the market.

Sack the board, clearly haven't backed the manager Signing three players was just to distract the fans from the fact that we hadn't signed any players.

The best time to judge the window is once we've seen the new players play a few times.

First and foremost an increase on numbers for no cost is an improvement and I am happy enough with that as outside our first XI we had very little depth to cover for injuries.
But we have not yet spent Bodin's transfer fee (or any surplus) so it is debatable how much credit to give to the board for this.
I will wait and see how happy Clarke is as he is the one who talked about targets and his infamous 3 lists. I would like to hear where he feels he has shopped and if he says he has shopped at waitrose then I will be the first to pat the board on the back and start to change my opinion of them. Can't say fairer than that.

The best time to judge the window is once we've seen the new players play a few times. Over a season I would suggest. At the moment let's just be happy with the fact that this looks good on paper. Plus in Craig we have the potential defence coach of the future. If true a nice bit of forward thinking.

Being more patient it would be wiser to spend transfer money post season as we did last summer.

After all the toys being thrown out of the pram over the past few days I reckon it’s been a good window. Anyone who thought we were going to sign more than what we have done were living in a world other than the real one! We have signed an experienced defender with a great record in this league, an attacking midfielder who can play wing with bags of potential and another more experienced winger who has a good record in the leagues who has a good scoring record. Put that with the contract extensions that have been signed and DC saying 3/4 would be good and he would prefer permanent signings over loans means that he did what he wanted. When you see all the loans that some have done I m pretty pleased. Yes it was done pretty late but we should have been expecting that and if the PL clubs seem to leave it to the last minute with all their resources and having all the people that they do to drive transfers I reckon we did ok with most if it being on DCs shoulders. Well done DC just do the training stuff today and tomorrow! Interesting to see that Exeter were saying how hard it was to get permanent signings and they couldn’t do it and had to just renew two loans. Don’t know what Plymouth did apart from losing Jervis. Perhaps it’s a south west thing and players don’t want to uproot or move away from the big centres. I don’t know it just seems like it wasn’t just us finding it hard. On the other hand perhaps we didn’t find it hard and DC got what he wanted because we know he is very picky about what players he brings into the dressing room. Having been with us in 13/14 when we went out of the league he will place real importance in the idea of a dressing room after what he saw going on then. Only seen Kyle B on TV but some really good goals and did well for Pompey and Paul Cook before losing favour with Jacket. UTG!
ps. Noticed that Shrewsbury signed Nathan Thomas from Sheffield U. Good signing I would have thought and we’ll have to watch him on Saturday. What do you know about him pirate?
