Yep, let's just flush £350K down the toilet and start again. It must be a better option than him costs us league points? It's almost like playing with 10 men when he's on the pitch, although it's baffling how we paid so much, perhaps SH misread DC's list and read "pay up to £50K" as "pay up to 350K??" hence why there was no money left for a DCM & LW. The fee was undisclosed so just saying the highest rumoured fee or the fee proven liar darren mcanthony mentions dosnt make it a fact.

.... I was stood behind the Gas dugout at the Wimbledon game on Saturday. Had a good view for the whole game and I was surprised how small Nichols is.He was laughing and joking around with the others subs, not a care in the world. Not strong enough to muscle other players on or off the ball, needs too much time when he gets the ball. If I was in his shoes I would be utterly embarrassed at contributing nothing this season. A big zero, in terms of goals or assists. He should hang his head in shame... ( that thing sadly lacking nowadays ). When he was warming up, not a hint of " need to work my ass off and bang one in , hundreds of gasheads twenty feet behind me ". ( His hair was all sorted though !! ) Say what you like but Matty Taylor was a classy player, read the game well, half a chance and he scored. We have NOT replaced him, end of. Stupid comment implying he cant laugh and joke with the other subs.

Looked out of his depth at the Wolves game, hardly had a touch,a match in which the team as a whole were excellent,Bola and Parts especially.Last time I saw Telford play. Strange, I don't rate Nichols but I thought the wolves game was probably one of his better performances for us, funny how we see it differently. Don't worry guys, he'll be at Forest Green by mid July.

The thing with Luke James last season was we could see he was very determined to do well and score for us too. His body language was that of a man who desperately wanted to get his career back on track and it showed in everything he did. Don’t see any of that on the pitch with Nichols , in the pre match warm up, during the match or in his interview.

Nichols is a much better player than James. He worries me with his lack of strength but it is obvious there is a player in there. His control and technique are surely the best in the squad and he makes some really intelligent runs. I have faith in him personally. If allowed to have a run in the team without his own 'supporters' on his back then I believe he'll come good.

I also haven't seen supporters on his back. He gets support while he is playing. Oh, and he has had a run in the team. He did nothing with that opportunity.

Do you think Sercombe would have done as well playing the majority of the season at left back?

Ah, the old "he's played out of position" defence. Sercombe has played in most positions across the midfield, Central and wide and has done ok when out of position. Nichols has been asked to play up front. He's played as part of a 3 and he has played alongside Gaffers and Harrison as a 2. It's not like he has had to play in goal is it? If Nichols had been asked to play in midfield or defence then fair enough. But he hasn't.

A striker's employed to either 1) score goals or 2) create chances for team mates, up until that pen miss in the home game I'd say LJ out performed TN at Rovers who, apart from his subs appearance in the Bradford away game, has looked a very poor signing.

His runs aren't that intelligent, if they were, he'd be getting on the end of crosses and passes in dangerous areas. His technique is better than LJ but that doesn't really say a lot. I hope we cut our losses with him tbh, but while he's on the pitch I will back him 100% even though he shouldnt be on it.

Starting for the Dev squad today, let's hope he can score and build some confidence. Or not. Gets a run-out for Development Squad today and plays upfront, Cheltenham down to 10 men most of the game, no goals for Nichols but a brace for Telford. Now who would have predicted that?
