So, 10 games to go, 30 points to play for.
Are we going to make the play-offs ?
6 games v the top 8 to come.
Who says we're going to do it ? and why (not) ?

On paper, based on the average position of our opponents, we have the hardest run in of all playoff chasing teams so it will be tough especially with us having to play Blackburn, Charlton, Wigan, Plymouth, Peterborough and Rotherham. Fleetwood and Southend away will be no easy games either. 7 wins out of the last 10 games may be enough if we can beat the teams around us. It's nice to be looking up at the table free from any worry of relegation. Bristol Rovers (9th) - 9.8 Plymouth (6th) - 11.1 Charlton (8th) - 11.42 Bradford (10th) - 11.5 Gillingham (11th) - 11.7 Peterborough (7th) - 12.5 Rotherham (4th) - 12.5 Portsmouth (12th) - 12.9 Scunthorpe (5th) - 13.2
Make us dream.

Had we have won last week against Northampton, it would've looked possible, but our remaining games are very tough looking.

Our record in 2018 is 6 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats, so 21 points from 11 games. But no wins v teams above us in the table.

No we won’t make it and in all probability it’ll be pretty much over by tomorrow night. The games we’ve left are too hard in my view. Don’t think we are quite good enough , need a decent free scoring striker to have a real pop next season. Hope I’m wrong !

I can't see us doing it to be honest. If we can't beat Northampton and Scunny at home, and lose at Wimbledon - all in the last four games then away games at Plymouth, Peterborough, and Rotherham will end our hopes I expect. The home games v Charlton, Blackburn and Wigan could trip us up too. Having said that, we are Bristol Rovers and in DC we have someone that always seems to be able to conjure up something.....

Just Imagine if we made the playoffs and achieved promotion. 50/1 to be promoted on skybet. About right I reckon but what an achievement if we did it!

We tend to lose at Peterboro and I doubt we'll win at Southend so that's a min of 5 points dropped just from those two games. That means we virtually need max points from the other 8 games, starting tomorrow. Just can't see it myself. Most likely to finish top 10 and miss out on play offs by 6 points or so. But that in itself would represent a decent season given the awful run of results we went through.

Yes you're right - Plymouth game big but Posh game bigger as they are 6 ahead of us in 6th place. We really need 4 or 6pts from these 2 games to really get the belief up. We owe Posh a win but that's going to be mega hard - Supersub Nichols to shock the football world !!?

Can't see it. 9th? 10th? Think that's us this season, not disappointed either.

I think that we'll be in the mix until the final day of the season - with DC and this squad I always expect the unexpected. A dull 0-0 draw at Southend, with Rovers hitting the woodwork three times, will see us just miss out.
Having said that, I'm going to stick a bet on at 50/1 odds!

So you've already decided we'll lose tomorrow before a balls even been kicked? Given Muffs injury problems we should be able to at least match them tomorrow In my view if we can get a win in either of the next two games then it'll remain a possibility, as long as Scunthorpe's poor run continues. A win and a draw, or even two wins, and it'll look very promising. As far as the remaining fixtures go then Peterborough's last 5 away games look real shockers, Rotherham, Plymouth, Blackburn, Shrewsbury and Portsmouth, they'll do well to win any of them, whilst Pompey looks the easiest I doubt they'll want to lose the last home game of the season. Taking of Posh I completely missed that Darragh MacAnthony had sold 50% of his Holdings to two Canadians. It seems Div 1 is becoming the new Championship, foreign owners wise.

Don’t think we’ll do it. There are probably six better teams than us in this league and we really needed to beat Scunthorpe and Northampton and get something at Wimbledon. We can’t afford any slip ups and we’ve a hard run in so no we won’t do it. But mid table is ok and all the teams know we are a hard side to beat so lots to be happy about. For all the goals we’ve scored we still lack a 20 a season striker and as always we have to wait until after Christmas before the defence remembers how to defend!! But it’s so close and as was said, beat Plymouth and Posh and it will be different and I’ll probably change my mind again. We could do it, I just don’t think we will. UTG!
