Cautiously welcome this appointment.
It all depends on the remit though. If TW is here to effectively oversee a scouting network and present options to DC then fine, because the manager retains the final say.
If however TW is in charge and has the final say on a player (like a Director of Football) then I'd be concerned.
I haven't seen anything yet that confirms one way or another. I think it's probably the 'chief scout' type role rather than 'DoF' and would certainly hope so, because DC actually has a very good recruitment record and as the man who stands or falls by results on the pitch should always have the final say on the players at his disposal.

The fact that DC and TW go way back should surely assuage these fears? Also in his interview it seemed pretty clear that DC would be in charge.

TW interview said DC will give him type of player to look for and will scout and come back with a list of options (approx 4) to present to DC. Very much a case of him doing the work for DC, DC to have final say on who to go for.

Not sure there's really any any development squad players about to break through into the starting 11? Kelly may become back up LB, Russe &/or Hargreaves back CM's but that seems about it. It'll be interesting to see if Broom is offered another contract next season.

You mean they iron their shorts and put things away? All have OCD 😂 You mean CDO? Sequence! Sequence! Sequence!
This Tommy bloke sounds utterly professional - great recruit?!?!?!

Ah, haven't heard the interview but that being the case, good news! I was worried too until I saw the interview. Clearly a DC sanctioned appointment and a friend of his. DC will still have full control but now with some help. The moment DC loses full control and he will be off I'm sure (luckily we don't have that type of owner). It's the way he operates and I suspect a major factor in why he didn't take the Leeds job.

Really good news and sounds like another good recruitment, comes across very well in the interview, things are looking good, slowly catching up with the rest of the footballing world.

Very impressive interview I thought, clearly very confident in his ability and seems to understand exactly what his role is going to be. With the news of Wael committing his full time attention to the club & a raft of promising players signing new contracts it's been a good few days. More to come I hope.

Wow, impressive stuff that's how to conduct an interview, perhaps he could pass a few tips on to DC & MS, did I hear right we've basically head hunted him from promotion chasing Coventry City and he has a team of 4 or 5 scouts working for him covering the country, If I hadn't already paid for my s/t I'd buy pay on the basis on his interview! Top 6 surely must be the aim now next season?

Anyone notice he said - after talking to the chairman and owner - he's sure there's more positive news to come in the coming days or weeks.
Wonder what they told him?
