The whole team today looked a shambles as usual players playing out of position does not help, players not seeming to know their role or what formation they were supposed to be playing, no wonder we struggle to defend why not play Leadbetter at RB why not play Kelly at LB at least it is their natural positions why not play Sercombe more central where he is more effective, why not start with two upfront at home why sign injured players. We had no shape no width they were first to nearly every ball. We were playing a side who are supposed to be one of the weaker teams in this league yet they looked far quicker, stronger and far more organised, sorry but DC is to blame he picks the team/formation etc. Unfortunately i think he tries to be too clever and is too stubborn and needs to change his way of thinking quickly !

Having a decent pitch could be our downfall, it’s prob why our away form under dc has generally been poor last couple seasons. Dc has to change the way we play all Accrington done today was pass it by us all game with 1-2s etc, we have to change our long ball style

For me taking off Upson and Rodman made no sense when Ollie Clarke and Sercombe were both absolutely useless and should have been taken off.In fact as the game went on they both managed to surpass what they achieved in the first sixty minutes by both having an even more dire last half hour. Our Manager got everything wrong today and when you see Ollie Clarke at the front of a midfield diamond looking more like Matt Gill as every minute passed, something is clearly not right.

Managers, like players, can make mistakes. I will wait and see how he changes things for the next league game and if he is still trying to fit square pegs in round holes I will be a bit more worried. This is why I like managers to get players in early doors so they get to know the coaches and squad, and more importantly for the coaches and squad to get to know them. At the moment it seems DC doesn't know his best team, and that is down to bad planning, and it showed by the players playing like they had just met each other. O.Clarke is still living off 2 seasons ago when he looked a player, I think DC is hoping he will rediscover his form but its been a year - not good enough. At least he bought my recommendation Stefan Payne, although if he would have done it when I recommended him (when we came up from the conference) he may have saved a few bob.

The team now has two undroppables, Lockyer and Craig, compared to four last season, so expect DC to change things even more now.

Don't panic peoples - every season DC uses the first few matches as experimental before he decides which and where the players should play - come Christmas we will be fine.

Agree with this. Ollie trie hard but he seems very one-paced and is not going to create openings. Can only assume DC hopes his shooting ability will pay off. Unfortunately, this rarely happens - I counted only one trade mark shot from him . Sercombe should be playing in Olli's position as he's much more of a goal threat in the middle. Thought Upson had played o.k until subbed. Bennett did badly for me- wanted to beat the same man two or three times and ultimately failed. He lost the opportunity to pass the ball quickly far too often. don,t understand why we played one man up front at home.

How frustrating it is to watch Holloway as a guest on quest football when he could be at the mem working his magic what a waste But on the hosts question of returning to management he did hesitate in commenting so perhaps there is something happening behind the scenes

What makes you believe he should return to the Gas?

Trying to climb the perimeter wall to physically attack a young fan who'd urged him to motivate the team? (I was there & know the young guy very well.)

I thought this. I’m usually a big fan of DC and I believe he’s usually very good with his selection. But yesterday was questionable. Upson and O Clarke were poor, and given the chance i’d have taken either of them off instead of Rodman who had done absolutely nothing wrong and had given us a decent avenue down the right.
Rodman coming off was a shame, but even more of a shame is that a point that could have been won had we stayed with 4 at the back was thrown away.
Playing 3 at the back was actually hard to watch. Bennett definitely isn’t a LWB, and the CBs all looked completely overwhelmed and disorganised as soon as that change was made. I understand going for the win but a point is still better than nothing, and was literally thrown away.

DC got it completely wrong yesterday so time to stick with the players playing in their favoured positions, keep a stable back four and midfield. Time to send out Ollie Clarke,Broadbent,James Clarke out on loan and bring in a bit more height and physical presence at CB also a LB We need a captain who players look up to and can rally the troops. With all the uncertainty of the field it won’t be long before the fans turn on DC if the results do not pick up.

You said the same about the stadium news but 6 months has now turned into 3 years! Not sure he needs to do much experimenting this season as the basic squad has hardly changed, the worry is that it's now 1 win in 13 league games, 2 wins from 16 league games, throw in the pre-season friendlies against league teams and it's just 1 in 16 games it's not just a slow start to this season. It's getting to the point players must be going out assuming they won't win. We've now two big games coming up this week where we need to win at least one.

Trouble is DC forgot to sign an additional central defender and so only alternative is rookie Broadbent who played yesterday anyway. Need to give Kelly a game at left back and lets see what the lad can do. Playing players in their natural positions might help also. Being less fearful and playing two upfront from the start might be worth trying.
