If we'd won two more games this season I doubt very much this type of thread would exist. But we didn't.

Why would Hani hold the purse strings at a football club, if he had no interest in a football club..?
It is essentially no different to him being the trustee of a trust fund for his little brother to make sure he doesn't water family money up the wall. In fact I'll bet as far as his family was concerned it was a strategic move to have someone with no emotional investment in control of the finance. If Wael wanted to own a football club that badly he should have looked to buy us himself rather than just being the public face of his family's bid who seem to have slightly different intentions than Wael has.
Hang on, surley if they didnt want Wael to " water the family money up the wall." as you say, then surley they wouldn't have put him in charge?
They would have just put Hani in charge? Or am I being too simplistic?

Hardly indicative of Rovers' great support then is it? 32 keyboard warriors who wouldn't know a good deal if Sheikh Mansour walked through our foot operated automatic turnstiles.
Born to *king moan.

I voted Yes although it is a far more nuanced question than 3 basic answers. For me it boils down to this: If the prospective buyers have some Rovers representation on the new board (ie an Ed Ware type who could be a steady hand on the tiller) then I would be very disappointed if any such takeover collapsed because Wael wants to hang on to his Rovers shares for dear life. I would hope that Wael would always do what is best for the club and not himself. We should never ever go back to the days where the likes of Ed Ware are involved

I'd rather he actually just told us his vision for the club before we start asking for him to leave. He's not going to tell you as he can't speak for the owners.

The thing is,it is not Wael who holds the purse strings,it's his brother Hani, who I believe has no real interest in a football club, which maybe is not good news for us. So what does Wael bring to the table apart from a nice smile?

If we'd won two more games this season I doubt very much this type of thread would exist. But we didn't. Yet the owner is taking far more flack than the Mem who's job it is to win us football games. I've lost a lot more faith in DC since the start of the season than I have in Wael. He brought in players you could argue we didn't need while neglecting the positions we were short in. I'm not saying for one second I want him out but a thread gauging opinion on whether to try and overthrow the owners on the back of poor performances on the field is a bit mad imo.

Well according to knowall, he must have something coming to fruition, as in 6 months we will all be excited by the soon to be announced news😀

The point is, Wael's getting cockthreads for DC's and the team's failure. I think there might be other reasons for criticism of the silent one. Sure, I get that he was criticised over the close-season for general stadium/training ground issues and communication, etc. But istm this latest batch is likely to be provoked by on-field stuff. Istm people were generally content with recruitment and playing budget this year, if not ecstatic, and istm on paper we have at least a mid-table side. So the recent 'the team is failing coz Wael wouldn't back DC properly' seems to me to be a result of the team's performance rather than how the budget was perceived going into the start of the season.

You re in charge can we have a countdown style clock on the side of the site? 😀 Thats probably how they worked out the playing budget, Dc asked for three big numbers from the top, and Hani Riley gave him three small numbers from the bottom 😂

It makes sense to me. My take on it is that Wael is the football mad son, so the family agree to finance the takeover of a football club as a reasonably priced business investment, and he is in charge of the day to day strategy. Kind of like a family buying their son a puppy, the puppy is considered a family pet but the son who wanted it is responsible for taking it for walks. Hani has his own day job but is tasked with ensuring the investment doesnt spiral out of control by reviewing business cases for the investment and signing off on cheques if justified. If you want to buy into the school.of thought that the family were looking for a 'toy' to keep Wael occupied then this scenario makes even more sense than it does already.
