wow, he played the full 90! i have to say this type of scenario is always the weirdest thing in footy. players being loaned UP a division. players who are apparently unfit then play a full 90. I do find it bizarre.

Hard to say that when we've just won another game and consequently gained ground on top spot. But I'm not sure how long we're going to be able to sustain winning games ugly by the odd goal. We're solid, organised and hard working enough for most teams to find it difficult to score against us at this level, but we're not scoring anywhere near enough ourselves to make any match comfortable.

Not being a statto myself but it would be interesting to find out how many times teams have won their respective leagues without scring a hatful of goals . Obviously you need to have a watertight (!) defence and in fairness we have been pretty good especially at home . can you win win a league by scoring say 60 goals and conceding 40 ?

Very unlikely to be able to do that as with a 20 GD the most games you could win would be 20 which would be 60 points and unlikely to get enough draws to to get enough points to win the league. Of course if you win 46 games 1-0 you would walk the League and only score 46 goals!!!!

Fairly sure Arsenal invincibles had one of the lowest goals scored tally for a title winning team ever.

Fairly sure Arsenal invincibles had one of the lowest goals scored tally for a title winning team ever. Played 36 , scored 76 ( highest in league ) conceded 26 ( lowest in league ) looking back lack over the last 10 seasons in the conference invariably the league winners were the top scorers . Highest was Luton & Fleetwood with 102 goals. Lowest was Accrington Stanley with 76 goals. Hereford finished second and were promoted scoring only 59 and conceding 33 .

For example you could win 36 games by 1-0 and lose 10 games 2-0 giving just a 16 GD but with a handsome 102pts

We are a decent striker short of challenging for automatic promotion so come january we should go for it. Always believed Taylor and White were poor signings for different reasons. Taylor wasnt good enough for foret green and white has weight and injury issues. (Potential though)
So just the easy task of identifying someone to get the goals for automatic promotion this season and to help us challenge for a second one next season :-)

What we have needed for many a season now is someone with pace and power - an Agogo or Roberts, the last we had of that type was Tonkora (sp)..
It's certainly working at Barnet with Akinde

Why wait till Christmas? Sign someone on loan NOW with a view to a permanent signing at the next window.

A striker who cant score is a bad signing. Were you one of the ones raving about Beardsley ? . Hopefully he will come good but 1 goal from open play in 15 games is basically sh**
