Interesting comments from Tom Locks 'we had a game plan and didn't carry it out! if players dont get near there man and give them space to play through and round us we have no chance'.so there you have it ,and it is clear 1/2 the team are not giving there all for the shirt,D/C for your own sake you need to forget any sense of loyalty to these players , drop them and give youth a chance who are more likely to be ,hungry, committed and up for the fight, cos some of our team are not!D/C if you dont take any action these players are going to bring you down which would be the worst thing for Rovers!come on Gas !

Of course he does he's been playing this card for ages now but any sensible contract will have a built in clause that if you are not performing to target you will be sacked without compensation cuss he ain't performed to target for 2 seasons now and we should not have to pay for a crap manager Are these targets you talk of your targets ? Personally I can't class 2 solid mid table finishes as a failure in any way. I think your letting your anti DC bias cloud your judgement. If you'd taken a poll prior to both of the last two seasons I'm pretty confident the vast majority would have settled for what we achieved. You obviously think we should have sailed straight through this league just as we did in league 2. Show can my targets influence the board and by the way my target for this league since we started as been a top 10 finish with a positive goal difference is that too much to ask. surely any manager being employed by any company will have minimum targets to achieve

Said it before and I’ll say it again. You have to look at the board to take as much as the blame as well. There has been no reinvestment in a squad that has lost a massive part of the spine of the team, massive part of the personality of the team and a huge part of the BRFC work ethic and playing style DC has instilled the past 4 years. in the last 12 months we have lost Bodin, Harrison, Lee Brown and Gaffney. Big players for us that even if they weren’t in the team they moulded and shaped the attitude of it. The board has taken the money and ran for these players quite frankly and not reinvested it in any areas near good enough. They have asked DC to build another side on a conference budget. Evidenced by the fact we had to send Mensah and Slocombe away so we could get some cover in in other areas. DC said as much it’s going to be 1 in 1 out. And because it’s like that we are shopping in the bargain basement getting players that aren’t quite good enough. The ALQs absolute beligerence on not supporting our club financially the way other owners do is what is costing us. There were quality players available for permanent signings or loans which other teams have signed with smaller budgets/gates/grounds than ours. DC has his faults I will admit. I’m not saying he’s perfect. I detest the way he plays players out of position. Won’t drop certain players if they aren’t performing or never plays a settled side, but when you look at the bigger picture with the way the club is being run it’s as if DC is trying to manage with both his hands tied behind his back. No reinvestment? Taken the money and ran? Building another side on a conference budget? Come on. We're all frustrated but to suggest he's operating with his hands behind his back is nonsense. It simply isn't the case. Of course the board have to take an element of responsibility but I would challenge the idea he hasn't been supported, both on the pitch and through the management structure which he appears to have been able to construct himself. DC's had to experience the hard reality of managing a lower league club that can't rely on the huge competitive advantage of parachuite payments from the Championship or on their owner(s) gambling (often irresponsibly) their own finances in the playing squad. For some reason, there appears to be a expectation amongst many that we should be financially competing on par with the big fish in this division. As you've acknowledged yourself, our budget is probably bigger than other clubs who have had smaller budgets but been able to sign 'quality players'. 1 in 1 out is often the reality of managing a lower league club. I'm interested to know examples of other clubs at our level who are being financially supported by owners more than us? We've been losing millions every year so it's pretty inevitable that DC wasn't going to be handed back all transfer income to reinvest. However what has been invested hasn't been insignificant for a club in our position. A reported £300k on Nicholls, £200k on Payne as well as fees on Sercombe, Mensah and Partington. Holmes-Dennis, our replacement for Brown, also cost a transfer fee and questions have to be asked about that deal given our clear problem with the left back position. Upson, Craig and Rodman will be on League One wages too. Recruitment is key at any level and if not done successfully, will be reflected in league positions as appears to be the case with us currently. I'm not suggesting we should make a managerial change. As someone else has said, the thought of someone else coming in and managing this squad fills me with dread and for me, would dramatically increase the chance of relegation. However to try and shift the blame to the board and off DC isn't in sync with the reality of the situation.

Yes, lines interview also very telling as he basically said he did F all to stay fit over the summer so he used his suspension period to run about a bit and now he’s nearly where he should be. FFS, if Lines and Locks are saying these sorts of things, who is giving a toss? Certainly won’t be the newbies

The amount we have spent isn't very good for a league 1 club. 200k wouldn't get you Andy Williams left nut in this league. When will people realise times have changed. We probably spent more when Trollope was here, but that was over 10 years ago!

Your targets are fair enough I don't think they are over ambitious but let's be honest it's not as though DC has failed miserably to achieve them. 10th & 13th (I think) isn't far off certainly not far enough away to warrant being sacked.

IMO D.C. has ended up with a terrible squad because Waq & Hani have refused to back him. Watching Payne yesterday l could clearly see how he was hiding not actively looking for the ball, unable to complete for the ball against the hatters centre half and clearly not picking up or marking when rovers were defending corners. There does seem to be a situation with Payne. I didn`t go yesterday, but what you`ve written seems to indicate that he carried on his performance from the previous game. Against Plymouth, it was almost as if he was on strike. Either Clarke gets him to play the way that he wants, or he should drop him for someone who will. It`s ridiculous continuing to pick him, as things stand.

There is a good site called footballers v fans that gives what seems like an accurate idea of players salaries last season in each division. It places us about 17th in terms of average players wages. So i would suggest the top 16 payers are all examples of clubs being supported by their owners to a greater degree than us . It dosnt alter the fact that were below 17th and recruitment appears to have been poor for this season of course but were never going to get anywhere in this division or get the most sought after players if we dont pay the rate.

I would suggest they are creative figures. I wouldn't expect to see us particularly high up the wage bill league table and probably within a middle bracket of L1 teams. I'd also point out that several clubs in the top half have bigger incomes than us, including some with parachute payments, and therefore it wouldn't be reasonable to expect us to compete financially with them.

Not sure how DC justified paying transfer fees for Burn and Mensah then never even playing them. Given we're losing £2/3m a season, have decent attendances/gate receipts etc unless the ALQ's are milking the club for then can other mid table clubs really be paying that much more in wages.

No it dosnt include transfer fees. I suppose the real point is that we are as we have always been in our history which is third division with no realistic chance of establishing the club anywhere higher. It feels worse now than before because many of us thought it was going to be different when the new owners came in. Ps...our modern history is league 2 with the odd spell in league one.

I've been saying for ages he's lost the plot but all the DC lovers kept telling me that he will pull it around but how long do we have to wait and what happens in the meantime and what happens if he doesn't At least I am not singing solo any more and that others are seeing my point of view and he needs to go before Monday morning If I was one of the players I would organise a mass walkout of everyone has he seems to treat them like sh**e and has no loyalty to any of them except Nicholls his little pet It's a shame we haven't got Alan sugar as chairman. As he would fire him What complete rubbish. DC has earn't the time to turn this around given his passion for our club and what he has done for us over the past 5 years. If it wasnt for DC we may well not have a club today,or at best we might still be in non league. Have you forgotton the dark, dark, dark and - Im mean......once, AGAIN... DARK days at this football well before DC? Thoses days of Atkins,Mcgree, Graydon, Ward...etc I agree, not all is well at our club right now, but if DC is hounded by people that have no respect for yesterday then it would be a disgrace.

Maybe one day I and many others will join you, but today and most my Gas life I'm faithful and true, I even sing the bloody words, and I just can't bring myself to turn on one of my own after 8 matches..

I trust DC to get us out of this mess. Let's stick by the gaffer! I'm surprised at the number of likes for this post. The love affair with DC should come to an end - he's had his day it's time to move on and give someone else a chance. Not having this team ready for the start of the season was the last straw for me and the beginning of the end for his reign at OUR club as far as I'm concerned. You reap what you sow - DC you have let yourself down and more importantly you've let the supporters and club down - it's time to go. Just out of interest, if DC were to be sacked tommorow who would you realistically want bought in to replace him?
