I really like DC don't get me wrong, and I don't like to be pre-emptive seeing as we're not really that far in.. but I'm getting bored of the bad starts to the seasons and then just clawing it back at the end and finishing mid table We have some great talents on the squad - but watching the highlights for the past few games, the defence has been lacking (it's like watching fifa on amateur mode, you can just run past the defence and they watch) And the attack just can't seem to get a ball in or a shot on goal The midfield is where we're strongest but there's no point getting a ball up front to just lose it I'm getting a bit fed up, I have all the dedication in the world for the gas and I'll never not support them but it's just frustrating to watch at times We have some great bits of play but we can never seem to get on the end of it, and I'm sorry but that goal that Luton scored was from poor clearance
I'm not a negative nancy, but something needs to change, lets PRAY we get 3 points or at least 1 point against Coventry

DC has lost it ! You can only have so many excuses but the buck has to stop with him, why oh why was Kelly not even in the squad today even if he was on the bench it would not have been so bad, what is that going to do for his confidence after playing so well last week ? and he is not the only player who has been subject to this treatment in the past and from what i gather Martin handed the ball on a plate to their player to score that on top of getting sent off on his debut for us DC talks of players/team having no confidence from what i can see DC has lost his! He needs to get rid of his stubborn streak as he is going to self destruct as well as send us to league two! How can we ever hope to get a consistent side when all he does is keep tinkering/changing the team? This rot started to set in last season we all want DC to succeed but he needs to sort himself out if he is not happy with the off field situation and is finding it distracting etc then maybe he should make the decision to go because this is just not good enough and things are clearly not right. UTG ! I agree, Kelly was brill in the Plymouth game, I was sad to see him completely out the squad

I agree, Kelly was brill in the Plymouth game, I was sad to see him completely out the squad its laughable how the new bloke starts ahead of him i understand that Martin is on loan and if we're paying for him to be there we obviously want to get use out of him, so i do get DC's stubbornness. But, on the other hand, when we've got young talent like Michael Kelly, who we've had for a good while, finally come into a good form.. why would he change that!? Makes absolutely NO sense to change a good preforming squad.. I know it sounds a bit far fetched but I'd probably be playing either 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 at the moment 4-5-1 I'd play: Bonham Kelly Clarke (J) Lockyer Partington Bennett Sercombe Lines Clarke (O) Matthews Payne Bench Andre (yeah I'd ditch Smith) Leadbitter Broadbent Upson Sinclair Nichols Rodman 4-4-2 I'd play Bonham Kelly Broadbent Lockyer Partington Bennett Clarke (O) Sercombe Matthews Rodman Payne Bench Andre Clarke (J) Leadbitter Lines Sinclair Upson Reilly Nichols Apologies for the essay, and I know 4-5-1 sounds ridiculous but I think the beefier midfield would help us on the width and would help get more support for Payne up front to finally let him flourish I honestly think Martin wasn't a great transfer, but, he could prove me wrong, I guess we'll wait and see aha

Rubbish - DC is the exact opposite when it comes to loans. He won't play them unless he absolutely has to. See Jakubiak, Telford etc He doesn't believe in developing other teams' players for them so I guess he see's that he absolutely has to play this Martin fella over Kelley. DC continues to amaze

DC knows far more about the game and more to the point, the real situation at Rovers than anyone on this forum, even more than Henbury Gas. We care lucky to have him. League One may well be his limit but thats all we are isn't it.

Hey everyone, wasn’t sure where to post this but I see some people on this thread mentioning new profiles. Im from New Zealand but lived my first 2 years of my life in north Bristol. Recently have been back to England and loved, more importantly went back to where I spent my early life in Frenchay and Almondsbury, not far from the Memorial stadium to which I visited. I instant fell in love with the club! I have since studied the history of it, learnt about the players and spent a small fortune at the club store to help play my part! I managed to get to the QPR - Bristol Rovers game and loved but just missed out on going to the Plymouth Argyle game. Have been a avid Liverpool fan my whole life (where I live on the forums) but I think I have found another home as a club to rally behind which I have stronger connection with! I won’t spark up too many posts until I learn more about the current situation and sign up to iFollow and watch some more matches!
Just one thing I can’t get my head around is the opinion on Tom Lockyer? He seems to be the biggest name around here and a Welsh International but the vibe seems to be here that he been overly great?
Anyway sorry for the essay! Looking forward to diving deep into the support for this club!

Yes but the default expectation is that he would have to be decent though Topper. Gary Sawyer is an experienced LB but I wouldnt want him here. So far Martin has got himself sent off and then pretty much gave away the winner.... hardly a great start. He is already starting to prove everyone right about doubting a signing who couldnt even get in the first team for a mid-table L2 side. I'm not saying Kelly is a world beater but he is our player and so far has looked better than Martin imo.

If I was Kelly and I'd lost my chance at a run in the first team to Martin I'd be thoroughly disillusioned and watered right off at the manager. It's one thing being kept out of the side by Browner but this is taking the water.
