Recall a temp' LB two seasons ago called Harris.Scored a cracking OG at Vale but Billy Bob rescued us with a superb equaliser.Partington went off injured early in that game and sadly does seem injury prone. When he is fully fit though he is better than a lot we currently have.

i understand that Martin is on loan and if we're paying for him to be there we obviously want to get use out of him, so i do get DC's stubbornness. But, on the other hand, when we've got young talent like Michael Kelly, who we've had for a good while, finally come into a good form.. why would he change that!? Makes absolutely NO sense to change a good preforming squad.. I honestly think Martin wasn't a great transfer, but, he could prove me wrong, I guess we'll wait and see aha Kelly had one good game when he had little defending to do against a team who couldn't even score against 9 men at home on Saturday, you can hardly say he was part of a good performing squad, personally I'd have stuck with him for another game but we have to back DC's judgement as he sees both players in training etc. As far as martin not being a great transfer not really sure you can judge any player on just two away games particularly when, before we signed him, we were all calling for DC to sign an experienced LB. Kelly was good away to QPR also. He was tested and put in a good account of himself. If we are going to go all Peterborough in strategy then the future stars need to get game time. How else will we be able to sell them on.....?

its laughable how the new bloke starts ahead of him i understand that Martin is on loan and if we're paying for him to be there we obviously want to get use out of him, so i do get DC's stubbornness. Makes absolutely NO sense to change a good preforming squad.. I know it sounds a bit far fetched but I'd probably be playing either 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 at the moment 4-5-1 I'd play: Bonham Kelly Clarke (J) Lockyer Partington Bennett Sercombe Lines Clarke (O) Matthews Payne Bench Andre (yeah I'd ditch Smith) Leadbitter Broadbent Upson Sinclair Nichols Rodman 4-4-2 I'd play Bonham Kelly Broadbent Lockyer Partington Bennett Clarke (O) Sercombe Matthews Rodman Payne Bench Andre Clarke (J) Leadbitter Lines Sinclair Upson Reilly Nichols Apologies for the essay, and I know 4-5-1 sounds ridiculous but I think the beefier midfield would help us on the width and would help get more support for Payne up front to finally let him flourish I honestly think Martin wasn't a great transfer, but, he could prove me wrong, I guess we'll wait and see aha At least if we are going to play Martin then IMO we MUST play Leadbitter or Partington at RB. Martin at RB and Clarke at LB was much too negative as they are too slow and defensive minded and meant we were always put on the backfoot vs Luton.

Hey everyone, wasn’t sure where to post this but I see some people on this thread mentioning new profiles. Im from New Zealand but lived my first 2 years of my life in north Bristol. Recently have been back to England and loved, more importantly went back to where I spent my early life in Frenchay and Almondsbury, not far from the Memorial stadium to which I visited. I instant fell in love with the club! I have since studied the history of it, learnt about the players and spent a small fortune at the club store to help play my part! I managed to get to the QPR - Bristol Rovers game and loved but just missed out on going to the Plymouth Argyle game. Have been a avid Liverpool fan my whole life (where I live on the forums) but I think I have found another home as a club to rally behind which I have stronger connection with! I won’t spark up too many posts until I learn more about the current situation and sign up to iFollow and watch some more matches! Just one thing I can’t get my head around is the opinion on Tom Lockyer? He seems to be the biggest name around here and a Welsh International but the vibe seems to be here that he been overly great? Anyway sorry for the essay! Looking forward to diving deep into the support for this club! UTG He’s made a couple of appearances for wales who aren’t blessed with many decent defenders . Being an international doesn’t really mean that much. Toms an average to poor league 1 player at very best I’m afraid and hasn’t improved the way we’d hoped. He’s Rovers through and through but we rarely defend well with him in the side and only ever seem to keep clean sheets when he’s not playing. Many , myself included don’t see him as captain material as he just doesn’t seem to be vocal enough out on the pitch and makes too many mistakes to be considered one of those he’s our best player that’s why he’s captain , type of captains .

But after Leads horror show v Plymouth would you have picked him on Saturday? I suppose DC would argue if Martin hadn't made a basic mistake we'd have kept a clean sheet, even if that was mainly down to Bonham's saves. At home Leads or Parts must play as we can't seem to get the ball into the box w/o them in the side.

It looks like he was here for the Southend game as well according to his Instagram posts but not watch Rovers since. I can't understand why when he quit the Jordanian FA role earlier in the summer he said it was so he could spend more time at Rovers but seems to have spent less, have things changed just in a matter of months?
