They might have worked with the safety certificate department but not the planners. Ok perhaps the two council departments should communicate but planning permission would be required for a temporary structure just as it is for the south stand. I know this as I have been involved in gaining that permission in the past. only going by what is said in the article
The club worked with all the relevant authorities, including Bristol City Council, on its plans, and said it was agreed they would first put up the stands as temporary structures and then apply for planning permission once they were up.
That is permissible but at risk.

That temporary pp expired in 2009 when both stands were supposed to be removed! So do we not even have pp for the South Stand?

Also it says that the stands would only be classed as temporary until planning permission is granted. So they're going to be permanent then. Did you ever doubt it?

Did you ever doubt it? doubt what. we all know it's here for a season or two at minimum. in planning terms I am sure that is classed as permanent, even if we started building UWE tomorrow

It'll be fine. BCC were happy to have the Redcliffe temporary flyover up for 30 years. Those stands will be here for many years to come 😪

Someone rang the club and they are having an urgent meeting about it. If, like me, you sit in one of these stands you may be moved on Saturday.

I wonder if they have kept the planning permission for the South Stand up to date? The South stand should be updated with a higher rake and take it to the scoreboard

So who leaked this to the press as I doubt BCC informed the BP before they told club? It had to be 'leaked' surely, as a lot of people with tickets may have to be moved elsewhere.

I did say some time back that the club would have to consult with planning over the stands if they are in situ for over a month and are over a certain size then planning dept may require an application for planning to be submitted. You can apply retrospectively and should get permission but there is no guarantee. I say this as an local government officer who use to be a planning consultant. It is up to the delegated planning officer to decide whether permission is required, it maybe that a more senior officer has overruled another officer. I contacted the club the other day suggesting that the south stand is lengthend and that I would put some money towards the improvement, I have not received a reply, I wonder Why!.

Anyway, f**k that lot it will probably be sorted in a day or so, and I would imagine the only reason the stands won't be in use are on health and safety grounds.
