Last time around- I wasnt on this appointment. A league 1 survival battle needed a something different- imo.
This time around- not against it in the slightest. It's interesting that we appear to be generally looking at the modern modern coaching role as opposed to the old fashioned manager position. Ultimately I think this makes us stronger and I like the set up.

We have the team spirit and we are good at defending. So a bit of improvement going forward, could sort us. Whether that's by bringing in a few young player's, using his contacts. Or getting the most out of player's, that have been under performing. Which contacts are those Daniel? The ones which are currently unemployed? He will still have contacts at those clubs and others. He worked with development squads,v to charge of trophy games etc. So he will know coaches at a lot of clubs. Or has every club changed all there coaching set up???

They were saying on Quest last evening that it was Garner for our job.
Also, did you see Coughlin smirking on the sidelines for the camera before kick-off in the segment on their game?
He looked like the cat that got the cream and I never recall him smiling like that when he got our job.
The stands looked pretty empty for a hugely aspiring club who had just headhunter the best manager in the EFL.
What an Arsehole.

I would offer the job to Kevin Maher with Manse as his No 2 until the end of the season.
Keep everything as it is …. I wonder if the chance of running things would appeal to KM?
Think we will find out in the next 10 days and we need to as the window opens in nine days!!

I don’t care if it’s viewed as the ‘cheap option’, ‘lack of ambition’ etc, I see no reason to potentially rock the boat by making an external appointment at this moment in time. Not broken, don’t fix it! Especially if we went for someone like Garner - surely he’d want to come in and instantly put his own stamp on the team in his first managerial job... do we really need that right now? Not for me.

TW has and is doing a very good job in his present role and is probably in his element in that role, however, that does not automatically qualify him for a man management position, which in its self is a difficult skill, so I would leave well alone. I am in the camp that would prefer an internal promotion so step forward Hargreaves and Mans or just Mans with a wise old head to guide him as in Lenny and Trolls , the one great thing we have going for us at the moment is team spirit, fight and determination and the last thing we want is some one trying to turn us in to a Barcelona ,that can come later! up the Rovers.

Totally agree - clearly we have a tight knit group working together which includes Maher & Mansell - if we reach the play offs, great that's a real bonus for the club as we are - at the start of season most of us would have settled for a solid mid table finish - but hey ho we are now a genuine top end of the table team - no need to change things until the season end at least.

Isn't TW supposed to be on the selecation panel if so it sounds nonsense he's going to be appointed manager, if either Hargreaves or TW were going to be the next manager surely they'd have already been made caretake manager? If we don't get a presser tomorrow morning announcing a new manager I can see Maher keeping the job for the festive season/R3 of the cup.

Didn't stop Mark Bowen giving himself the managers job at Reading, I don't think the other two on the selection panel would have a clue who to appoint. I agree with others, don't rock the boat keep what's happening on the field going. Just don't get this Chris Hargreaves business, he won the reserve league at the first time of asking with a bunch of kids and trialists and has managed in the League.
