Must say following on from Saturday's aftermatch interview, this just drove me further towards depression. whole clubs on a right downer! It's only the cheerful and easy going tone of this place that's keeping me going. Thank goodness we all still get on eh lads? ......um Lads....... I'll get my coat.

Found today’s interview false, frustrated and hard to listen to. We need players ASAP or GC won’t be in the job long either. Must say following on from Saturday's aftermatch interview, this just drove me further towards depression. The bit that caught my attention was when he said "Port Vale are missing Nick Pope up top for them." As far as I know the Burnley and England Keeper has never played as a striker for Port Vale.

If we're worrying about a 34 year striker from a division two side, we really have hit rock bottom. After hearing that thank God he is apparently not playing!

It's so small it can pass right through all filtration systems and just ends up in the ocean and will take around 400 years to biodegrade. It's thought that we are attracted to glitter and shiny things in general due to its resemblance to the shimmer of clean water.

I was really keen to hear what he had to say on Saturday evening and felt very very sorry for him.
He is raw as a manager and clearly a hugely passionate guy who has all our best interests at heart ...he wants our team to win.
He said it exactly as he saw it, probably not as delicately as it needed to come out but let's be honest we all understood what he was saying. He is our Manager and we should get behind him, the quality in the squad is most certainly not his fault and if there are some terrorists in the dressing room I back him to face up to them.

You need to put James Clarke on your list. The most underrated player at the club and ALWAYS gives 110% And that tells the bigger picture that no offence to James Clarke but he shouldn’t be our best player this season! Why Not ?

Because he isn't a goal scorer, isn't expected to lay on assists or run the midfield. He isn't expected to run the back line or be the leader on the pitch. He's "just" a utility player. He should be being outshone by at least 3 or 4 other players.

I think you are being deliberately obtuse. There must be something in the water these days.

Isn't that stating the obvious although Sincs has been MotM in the past and he falls into the utility player category., our problem on Saturday is the 3 or 4 better players didn't perform for some reason, all we can hope is that it was a one off under GC and they've not just reverted to how they played under DC as if they have we'll be back in Div 2 next season.

Yes, I thought it was rather obvious.

Can't say I'm surprised by some of the comments Coughlan made.
Stood behind the bench during the Burton game and, sad to say, was not impressed with Coughlan at all. The man has passion, that's without question, but some of his antics were a bit on the silly side of things. His behavior didn't suggest a manager who is calm and in control and I wonder how some of that translates to the players. None of us are in the dressing room, that's fair enough, but I do wonder whether longer-term Coughlan's energizer bunny style on the touchline will become a bit grating?
There were two moment which really stood out for me. The first was after Tom Lockyer put another long ball forward which went out of play. The crowd groaned and Coughlan threw his hands up, turned to the crowd and said "he's a Welsh international, what can I do about that?" which seemed like a weird statement for a coach to make.
The other moment was a bizarre point whereby, shortly before bringing Nichols on late, Coughlan paced backwards and forwards for 30 seconds or a minute talking to himself and saying (loud enough to be audible) "should I risk it and gamble? should i risk it?" Again he just didn't gives the impress of somebody with a clear head or the decisiveness needed for a team in a relegation scrap. I just can't imagine most other managers behaving like that though maybe I'm wrong, who knows?
My post seems like a hatchet job on Coughlan. It's not supposed to be because results have been decent overall, though we're showing signs of slipping away again. Just wanted to share my observations from seeing him up close.

I would find my boss talking to himself whilst pacing back and forward a bit off putting. The worrying thing is that it's only January, will he have the temperament to inspire calm in the players in mid April with us still in the relegation zone? His behaviour then could be through the roof.

He called his players pristine
He really meant precious I think. They have to be told they're good.
Really?
Not on Saturdays performance
Cogs saw what we saw and he said it like we would
We should back this man
Clearly the team / dressing room dynamic isn't right. Old hands like Lines, Sincs, Lockyer, Ollie Clarke, James Clarke. They are the vestiges of the last four years
They should be stepping up and showing the "snowflakes " what being Rovers is all about

Anyone else get the feeling from his interviews and tone that he will not take the players mugging him off and if they don’t start at least showing some fight then when he says he won’t put his name to that - do you get the feeling he would walk if we look dead and buried?
