Alfie recalled from loan!sounds good prospect and as has been mentioned scores a few as well, seems like coaches could have it all planned out , would be great if he is given the chance , cant beat bringing through one of yer own! I would get him early if we are over 50 points with games to go. Broadbent should have gone out last season and made his mistakes elsewhere and learned from them. I think the development of TB was terrible, how he never went to a Div2 club like Swindon last season baffles me.

As i said Alfie HAS been recalled, so they must have something in mind, agree about Tom , think he would def have made it if handled differently

I don’t think Locks will stay as he’s our highest paid player in the club, I think for budget and value for money we can do better. His contract was loaded with bonus’s and a change once he became a international, he’s got a wise agent. Jermaine Easter. If he's going to find a club who will offer him a better contract then it'll either be a top 6/8 Div 1 side or a Championship side, which seems to to defeat the argument that he's not good enough for Rovers? As far as Kilgor I assume he's been recalled as cover for Parts after he was injured in the warm up on Tuesday, not sure that means he's firmly in GC's plans for next season or he's just desperate for defensive cover.

With Kilgour playing regularly and getting good reviews seems a bit of an odd decision to recall him unless he's going to play some part. Partington's injury may well be part of the reasoning but isn't that the reason we signed the lad from Reading ?

What's the latest news on Leads?
I hope the Kilgour recall doesn't mean Locks or Craig have a problem as like them or hate them - they're the best we have for the rest of the season.

From what I've seen of him, Alfie Kilgour is a brave and hard working CB with the occasional goal in him too. Has been getting rave reviews at Maidenhead so will be a welcome addition back into our squad, very much the future of our defence if he can get enough game time.

The Reading lad is always at the gym with the injured youngsters like Josh Bailey so am assuming that he has an issue

We do have to remember clubs get flattered by the international tag and we saw this with Robson Kanu scoring in the European Championship Finals and signing for WBA in the Premiership where he really struggled and now he’s only got 9 goals in over 80 games for them. A Championship club can take a gamble on Locks for free for £6k a week and sell him to a Div1 side in January and easily break even. I think we have to remember with Taylor and Bodin, if clubs want a cheap player coming into Bosman they pay £300k in January, Tom is still here and the scouts have watched him. Northern Ireland are giving out caps now to players who play in their won NI league these days, these are not England caps, these are squad made up caps for small countries with populations of 2 million.

But they are not going to get Locks for free as he's still got at least a year of his contract to go, unless we decide to tear up his contract, I still don't see the argument that we can do better than Locks but a Championship side is prepared to take a gamble with him. We all know whenever we release or sell a player with potential we usually get one in inferior.

We wouldn’t even be talking about our defence, if we had “One” game changer. But we haven’t. In fact, we haven’t got a single player I’d pay to watch. But there in my blood. True but surely that's our position. As soon as we get / develop a game changer they are sold / head hunted, and we are back to where we started (or worse) its still nice to have one, even for a short time

I would release Craig and go for Jombati at Wycombe or Beckles at Shrewsbury. Both big ball winning and ball playing centre halves.
I too would look to work in Kilgour and Menayese.

Beckles is just a thug who fakes an injury when the going gets tough, personally I wouldn't want him anywhere near the club.

A few weeks ago the Shrewsbury forum weren’t very complimentary about Beckles and their defensive record isn’t as good as ours. Working with Kilgour and Menayese sounds a better option and also give our development squad a boost and show the first team is achievable, if they are good enough of course. UTG!

Being built like a brick..... doesn’t necessarily make him good. Winning everything in the air and passing to feet does make a player good and according to the Shrewsbury forum he can’t do that very well. Not a go at you 1981 but there seems to be an obsession that our CHs have to be very big and very strong. One thing I do know though is that we are 21st in League 1 due to our midfield and strikers and is definitely not the fault of our defence this season. Have never understood why so many don’t like TC when he has improved our defence. But I know it’s all about opinions. UTG!

If we stay in League One there are a number of players I would like us to target on permanents or loans where possible. The permanents would include 6ft 3in Jon Guthrie at Walsall, 6ft 3in Lloyd Jones at Luton, 6ft 5in Ryan Inniss at Crystal Palace, 6ft 5in Anel Ahmedhodzic at Nottingham Forest, and depending on the brexit situation, 6ft 2in Israel Puerto at Recreativo de Huelva.
One of the best young centre backs I've seen this season that would be an excellent loan signing if viable, is 6ft 4in Rhys Williams at Liverpool. He's dominant in the air and classy on the ground and I can see him playing at the top level one day. Other loan options that would be good are 6ft 5in Zech Medley at Arsenal, 6ft 3in Morgan Feeney at Everton and 6ft 1in Cian Harries at Swansea. All class acts.

Please direct us to the information regarding lockyers salary. Thanks in advance.

You can tell that most people just want massive centre-backs on here, ability is simply not required. Sergio ramos, daniel passarella, bobby moore, carlos puyol and fabio cannavaro would not get a look in on this forum. I still maintain that ability is much more important than height and any new signings or offers of contracts for players at the club should be firmly based on that. The biggest centre-backs i ever saw were in the conference season playing against us.
