I'm as much in the dark as you about his form at Aldershot. The club updates on our loanees probably doesn't give much insight to how they are doing. Pirate will no doubt be better informed and provide a good view on his potential? I haven't really seen Rollin play in ages, but he certainly looked a good prospect at W-s-M and was definitely worth a deal at the time. How much he has improved since then is hard to tell as I haven't seen much of him, but at the age of 21 he's probably worth another year. Any from Bradford you'd like to try and bring in? I thought thier left back and scannel both looked really good.

Goalkeepers: Jack Bonham: Try and sign Alexis Andre Jr: make backup keeper Adam Smith: Release Sam Slocombe: Release
Defenders: Daniel Leadbitter: Release (sorry) Tareiq Holmes-Dennis: Keep (worry he's not in contract) Tom Lockyer: Keep Tony Craig: Keep James Clarke: Keep Joe Partington: Release Rollin Menayese: Keep if in contract Michael Kelly: Keep Alfie Kilgour: Keep
Midfielders: Ed Upson: Keep if in contract. Lay down higher expectations for next season Liam Sercombe: Keep, not convinced by these rumours. Ollie Clarke: Keep Chris Lines: Release, time has come Kyle Bennett: Sell if in contract, otherwise release Stuart Sinclair: release. Abumere Ogogo: Keep Sam Matthews: Keep
Strikers: Stefan Payne: Sell Tom Nichols: Sell if in contract, otherwise release Bernard Mensah: release Alex Jakubiak: don't try and sign Jonson Clarke-Harris: Keep Gavin Reilly: Keep Alex Rodman: Keep.
Signings: 1x attacking cm (2 if Sercs goes), 2x Lw, 1 x rw (not 4/5 signings necessarily but get players who can provide this sort of cover to these positions). 2x strikers, 1 rb. 1xGK if we can't sign Bonham

While I have no problem keeping James Clarke as a squad player he is nowhere near good enough to be a regular starter in a top half league one side. He looked awful and give them their first goal today
Tom Nichols needs to get shipped out somehow, again not good enough
Just as well keep smith or slocombe as cover

Scannell is someone I've always liked from afar, but I'd have to see what other players are available this summer as we might be able to get better. I like Jack Payne, but he's one of those players that only really suits playing in an advanced role in a three man midfield or in a 'number 10' sort of role. The number 5 centre back Paudie O'Connor on loan from Leeds is also a player I quite like.

As I don't know the contract situation, I thought it would be a lot easier to not go through and see which players are out of contract and which aren't. And also let's assume we stay in League 1, I think the majority of people can say with 80% certainty we're staying up. We won't finish in the lowest 4 teams with the likes of Scunthorpe, Southend, Walsall, Bradford, Rochdale, Wimbledon, Accrington, Wycombe around us. We're better than all of them imo We're at less than 1% to go down on this site, which seems a bit generous, but we'd really have to f**k up from here:
projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/league-one/
Come on AF of course we could **** up from here. We’ve all seen us do it before.😉 UTG!

Goalkeepers: Jack Bonham: try sign Alexis Andre Jr: Loan Adam Smith: sell Sam Slocombe: sell Defenders: Daniel Leadbitter: sell Tareiq Holmes-Dennis: keep Tom Lockyer: keep Tony Craig: keep James Clarke: keep Gabriel Osho (if he's even still here now!): Joe Partington: keep Rollin Menayese: loan Michael Kelly: keep Alfie Kilgour: loan to l2 side Josh Bailey: loan Mohammad Baghdadi: he’s no longer with us Midfielders: Ed Upson: sell Liam Sercombe: keep Ollie Clarke: keep Chris Lines: sell Kyle Bennett: keep Stuart Sinclair: sell Abumere Ogogo: keep Sam Matthews: loan Ben Morgan: loan Cameron Hargreaves: loan Zain Walker: loan Theo Widdrington: loan Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist: loan Strikers: Stefan Payne: sell (I will pay for the taxi if needs be) Tom Nichols: sell Bernard Mensah: sell Alex Jakubiak: Jonson Clarke-Harris: keep Gavin Reilly: sell Alex Rodman: keep Deon Moore: loan Harry Warwick: loan Disagree with Nichols (although he doesn't score much his great linkup with JCH is a massive bonus, and overall I think he's actually been okay this season, 7 assists the last time I checked, if he had 7 goals we'd all be raving to keep him), Upson (I think he's been good under Coughlan, and i'd keep him, think he's just been poor this season), Menayese (realistically will he ever be good enough to play for us? For me, no) and Kilgour (you've said to keep 3 CBs I think! Bit of a dangerous game imo EDIT: Didn't even realise you were probably implying buy a CB). We cant afford to keep a striker in the team that doesn't score goals. A second striker to pair with JCH if we keep hold of him is vital. A striker and some wide players should be top of the list. Nichols would be good player to link up with strikers in games when it suits. But we cant rely on JCH to score.

I’ve actually said on here we don’t need a clear out as clear outs usually make things worse. What we need to do is resolve the keeper problem, get a quicker more attacking RB, two creative midfielders to create and give us width and a striker. And before we decide on who we need to know where we play, League 1 or 2. Once that’s resolved I’m sure GC will recruit. UTG!

JC good squad player. If we can find a right back in same mould as THD we look good for a back 4 with Lockyer and Craig as CBs. JC always gives 100% and you need that sort of player in a club, a professional, not necessarily the best technical but I imagine he is good for rest of the team.

Just picking out of two of the OP's decisions but why would anybody suggest to keep Bennett, on a rumoured £4K p.w. but make no attempts to re-sign Jakubiak who would probably take £2K p.w.? I thought Bennett was a lot younger than he is, he'll be 29 next season, I thought he was 24ish. But I still wouldn't want Jakubiak back, I just think we can't risk having 3 strikers that barely ever score goals. I'd keep Nichols for his general play.

I would love to see if we could get some good quality League 2 players that would actually improve the team. Rather than Joe Martin quality players. Think Chuks Aneke would be a great signing. George Williams at Forest Green. Shay Facey at Northampton, or Kane Wilson at Exeter.

Does anyone know which of those players are out of contract?
Its pretty hard to make a judgement unless you know who's contract is up. It will be very hard to shift many of the players who are still under contract. Even loaning them out may not help much if the other team don't pay the majority of their wages. This in turn, has an impact on who we can bring in.

Whilst it seems inevitable as they don't play anywhere near enough minutes, I would be really sad to see Lines and particularly the Beard go. Such stalwarts of our rise back to L1 under DC. I'd go as far as to say Sincs will be remembered as a cult hero for us for decades. If they do go, we should give them a proper send off as they deserve our respect.
Clear outs always worry me. They're all well and good providing the new players are actually better and buy into the philosophy of the club, and also that they gel quickly. Remember relegation under Trolls/Penny/Campbell? Clear out then was the beginning of the end of our stay in L1.

Other than JCH and possibly Locks,I wouldn’t be too disappointed to see the back of any of the current squad. There are some good servants to the club in Sinclair, Clarkex2 and leadbitter but I think this season has shown that we need to freshen things up with some quality. JCH’s goals have papered over some pretty big cracks in the team. Let’s face it, without his goals, many of which were created and scored out of nothing, we would already be preparing for League 2. Unfortunately, until we move forward off the pitch, I think we’ll be in for a struggle or mid-table mediocrity at best for the foreseeable future. spot on,without jch we would be bottom

George Williams at Forest Green. Shay Facey at Northampton, or Kane Wilson at Exeter. Wilson is on loan from West Brom and had a similar loan at Walsall this season, but he could hardly get a game there and Facey is like Leadbitter for us in that he is very injury prone. A few in League Two I like are Charlie Kirk (Crewe), Danny Mayor (Bury), Tom James (Yeovil), Callum Brittain (MK Dons) and George Edmundson (Oldham).

www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/every-league-one-player-set-2710039only Slocombe, smith and Kelly out of contract. Hope we sign Kelly up to a new deal. Only going to get better and better. Bonham - Bigger and better things I believe smith - release slocombe - release Lockyer - keep, but if he wants to test himself higher been a great serpent to the club so wouldn’t hold him back craig - keep Holmes Dennis - keep kilgour - keep, especially if Lockyer goes clarke - keep leadbitter - free transfer partingdon - keep maynayese - keep Kelly - keep lines - free transfer Sinclair - free transfer mensah - free transfer Bennett - free transfer Matthews - keep agogo - keep sercombe - keep upson - keep o Clarke - keep Payne - sell, and I’ll drive him there nicholls - keep jakubiak- go back to Watford, re-sign on free if he wants to and the deal is right. Clarke Harris - goes without saying Reilly - keep rodman - keep

That isn't right. About 60% of the squad are out of contract this summer.

Let's simplify this to yes, no or development player. So, do we want the player here next season or not regardless of whether it involves contract negotiations, transfer list, release etc. Development players we'll leave to the management.
Goalkeepers: Jack Bonham: yes Alexis Andre Jr: D Adam Smith: no Sam Slocombe: no
Defenders: Daniel Leadbitter: no Tareiq Holmes-Dennis: yes Tom Lockyer: yes Tony Craig: yes James Clarke: no Gabriel Osho (if he's even still here now!): no Joe Partington: no Rollin Menayese: d Michael Kelly: yes Alfie Kilgour: d Josh Bailey: d
Midfielders: Ed Upson: no Liam Sercombe: yes Ollie Clarke: yes Chris Lines: yes Kyle Bennett: no Stuart Sinclair: yes Abumere Ogogo: not sure Sam Matthews: no Ben Morgan: d Cameron Hargreaves: d Zain Walker: d Theo Widdrington: d Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist: d
Strikers: Stefan Payne: No Tom Nichols: yes Bernard Mensah: no Alex Jakubiak: no Jonson Clarke-Harris: yes Gavin Reilly: no Alex Rodman: yes Deon Moore: d Harry Warwick: d
Big clear out needed, too many players who have had the chances and time to make it as a good D1 standard player and not got there or were mistakes and have not worked out.
Given the numbers above GC is done well with a poor squad to drag performances out of them that have not been pleasing on the eye but have ground out enough results and made us as difficult to beat as is best possible with this group. The Jan window provided a limited chance for change and GC did quite well. The big test of him as a manager is what he does this summer. I'm sure the football we've been playing isn't what he really wants to be coaching and producing, this is is just CG trying to wring what he can from a poor group of players.
I'm confident it is D1 next season and yesterday's ugly 3 points helped ease fears. But it's the summer where we will find out much more about GC's credentials.

I have not included most of the prominent youth players.
Goalkeepers: Jack Bonham: Keep if we can Alexis Andre Jr: Squad/Loan Adam Smith: Squad (would hate to be in the position where we don’t have a keeper)
Defenders: Tareiq Holmes-Dennis: Keep Tom Lockyer: Keep Tony Craig: Keep James Clarke: Keep Joe Partington: Squad/release Michael Kelly: Keep Alfie Kilgour: Keep
Midfielders: Ed Upson: Keep Liam Sercombe: Keep Ollie Clarke: Keep Chris Lines: Squad/release Stuart Sinclair: Squad/release Abumere Ogogo: Keep
Strikers: Tom Nichols: Keep Jonson Clarke-Harris: Keep Gavin Reilly: Keep Alex Rodman: Keep
