Cheers both.
Well that’s a real kick in the balls. Feels like we’re not having much luck with injuries atm.
We look a little lightweight upfront without JCH.

Eaves and JCH would put fear into most league 1 defenses. Would never get an easy game. Rumour is he's off to Hull. Confirmed now.

GC said a couple of days ago that THD, Clarke Harris and Kelly were injured. He added that two of them were going to have operations to sort out their injuries. He did not say who the two were. Pretty sure referred to Matthews not Kelly as he suggested the latter was joining up with the squad in Ireland, along with Upson.

I’ve struggled with my health recently! Changed my priorities! It changes everything doesn’t it. I’m very sorry to hear it as I know how easy most of us live up until we get sick. We never think this will happen but, if it does, it certainly makes for a hard time of it. I hope that whatever it is, can be treated and cured. Good luck and I wish you all the best. If you ever feel like talking then message me ok. thanks buddy! Nothing that can’t be fixed thankfully! UTG!

When I was diagnosed with cancer having a macmillan nurse to talk to meant so much to me so not to constantly pour it out on my wife. When my doctor told me to change my priorities and life style as he couldn't guarantee curing me a second time that was when I resigned from the bank, sold up in the UK and moved to France. Hope your well with improving health.

Smith was an unused sub in the 1st leg of doncasters play-off semi-final and not in the squad for the 2nd leg. Ollie mcburnie was hardly used in our promo season and would now be seen as a marquee signing It is quite similar to mcburnie in truth. Like doncaster last season when mcburnie was here we were flying high and just needed some cover. Doncaster are/were a much better team than us so smith should get more game time at rovers.

Hope your well with improving health. I don’t want to bring too much of my own battle into the public domain anymore, that is a big lesson I learned from being life limited sick. I am being managed but the latest numbers are not good. I am in for chemo tomorrow then next Tuesday. As for plans, I really have had a nightmare. I’ve paid for gigs, boxing then not been able to go. Sadly there are still many who pass crass comment as it’s not visual. I have lost 16kg now but had it to lose. I would , very much, like to sell and buy a more manageable property but I am incapable of doing the packing and rest of it. As the pink Floyd sang, hanging on in quiet desperation, it’s the English way, that could not be more pertinent in my case. I would happily discuss this in detail but privately and it’s an open offer ok. Getting back to football, I very much hope that we have some good news soon and that we can maybe have a surprise and have a successful season. It’s the only thing I have pushed myself to carry on going. I just double up on heavy pain meds. I’m glad you have Macmillan on your team, they are fantastic. I wish you all the very best of luck as we both know that we all need luck with these awful afflictions and in their treatment. Be kind to yourself my friend

Wael won't pay the money so we can all forget about this 'exciting signing' now, or as Coughlan says "marquee signings, big players, big names."

Wael won't pay the money so we can all forget about this 'exciting signing' now, or as Coughlan says "marquee signings, big players, big names." I suppose if you look at it objectively that is the sensible option - nothing is guaranteed with a marquee signing - are you guaranteed a top ten finish? No; are you guaranteed more bums on seats? No; are you guaranteed a harmonious dressing room given that they’ve probably had a fat signing on fee and are on higher wages than their teammates? No. I remember us thinking we had a marquee signing in Bob Lee and look how that turned out!

Although Nichols is scoring a few this pre season, still hope we are in for another striker. League games for past 2 seasons show he is not prolific. Hate for us to have egg on our faces if we stick with what we have now.

Personally I'd like to think we'll sign another striker, going into next season with the same set of players + a young loanee wouldn't be ideal. However, what I would say is that I have some sympathy with last year, I can't recall many occasions I came away from games thinking we'd missed a hatful of chances we simply didn't create them. We have to bring some creativity in regardless of whether we sign another striker or not it won't matter who plays up top if we don't create chances. We can't rely on JCH coming up with goals out of nothing. IMO I'd like another striker but think a priority has to be creativity.

I want wingers! And a experienced striker 6ft+. Then get Scales and I’d be satisfied.

From GC. “I thought Tyler Smith looked a little bit leggy, like he had had a tough week. Maybe it hit him this week.
“His sharpness and energy is something we need and that is why we brought him to the football club.
“The pursuit of other players, including Alex Jakubiak will continue. If we are successful then great, if we don’t then we have got enough players to work with.”

I genuinely think the strikers we have could all score more with some decent wingers whipping in low crosses, or creativity in the middle allowing them to play on the shoulder of the opposition CBs. Nichols definitely needs it due to being fairly lightweight, and Gavin Reilly is a poacher too. Looks like the young lad from Sheff Utd might be in the same sort of situation too, especially playing in a physical league like League One. They all require good delivery if we’re not going to rely solely on JCH all season. Personally i’d have Deon Moore as a backup big striker and let him play some first team games and see what happens.

Bristol Rovers manager Graham Coughlan issues update on pursuit of Watford striker Alex Jakubiak Asked by Bristol Live for exact details about what “procedures” had taken place and when his key players would return to play, Coughlan said: “I am not a medical person. I stick my nose in the physio room every now and again, as a player I never liked going in there.
“Jono [Jonson Clarke-Harris] is all done and dusted, we are hoping to have Jono back one of the days next week.
“We injected him and it didn’t quite work, we rested him and it didn’t quite work, so the last option was to have an op. I believe they call it keyhole surgery.
