Are we really going to be stuck with him for another season? Utter disbelief! How many chances can one player get? I get that he runs about and tries but he has no end product! What’s the point in flogging this dead horse! I’d take the losses and get shot of him! Imo we must move on and move him on!!! He seems nice enough, I know he tries hard and can link play but we need so much more than that!

I’ve always thought perhaps we could re-train his position to a wide man or attacking midfielder as he can’t score.

So frustrating! Does everything but score. If he did he would be worth a lot of money. Interesting to see how GC manages this.

I’ve always thought perhaps we could re-train his position to a wide man or attacking midfielder as he can’t score. As I understand it, he played behind strikers at Exeter and was not a striker per se. I think he has a good footballing brain but he lacks physicality and is easily pushed off of the ball. I think your idea of having him as an attacking midfielder would be a great idea as he has already done this.

I know a striker is all about scoring, but he does a lot of other stuff really well.
He gets in all the right places, he is one of the best passers of a ball we have at the club. He does a heck of a lot of running, something our other striker doesn't do.
I just hope he can score early on in the league, if he does, I honestly think he'll get quite a few if he does.
Yes all if's & maybe's, but I'd start him with JCH first game.

Tom N is a fantastic little player, as mentioned above he has a superb football brain, great first touch and his link up play is second to none. I just wish he wasn’t brought in with the ridiculous idea he was going to bag 20-30 a season. What is equally disappointing is the way he’s treated by some so called Gasheads.

I guess GC has a list of players he would like to move on this summer, Nichols is well down that list in my view:
Payne Bennett Mensah Matthews Nichols
Assuming we'll probably have to contribute upto 50% of these players wages I can see GC's logic in hoping TN finally comes good, given SCMP rules mean we don't have an unlimited wage budget, if not, then perhaps January is a better time to offload him than this summer.

The problem is he doesn’t even need to get 20+ goals, 10 goals & 7/8 assists would be excellent IMO.
It’s not always his finishing tbh, he rarely gets in the position to score because he sets players up quite well.
I’d love to see Tom in a CAM role behind JCH and a new striker.

Assuming we at least took over his Peterborough contract we're lumbered with the goalless wonder for one more season at a minimum. Doubt even Exeter would want him back now. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35461245

Well assuming this is the last year of his contract, I would imagine this season will be his last as a Rovers player. Either his barren spell will continue, then he will be released. Or he will finally come good and then we'll lose him to another club for nothing.

I reckon, in all seriousness, he will score 15+ this season.
It will be just the way it has gone with our transfers recently where he hits his peak towards the end of his contract and then leaves for nowt.
If he has got 10+ by Christmas maybe we’ll accept 200k in January from a team at the top of the league.

He was never a striker at any of the clubs he’s been at other than here. He played left of a front 3 at Exeter where he scored quite a few.
