I contacted the club after Steve Hamer invited fans to contact him directly if they had ideas or concerns they wanted to share during Twentyman's Having a Gas programme. I raised lots of ideas and personally I can't fault the way Steve Hamer responded. I asked a similar question to the OP regarding crowdfunding and the training ground and gave Norwich as an example. The reply I received specifically about this issues which I have copied from Steve's response was: "The Norwich City training ground development is also worth considering, I along with Wael Al Qadi have met many crowd funding firms with a view to launching a much more modest scheme for the Colony training ground, unfortunately it has never appealed to Dwane Sports, whether this has anything to do with the fact they own a large percentage and run the Allied Jordan Investment Bank and this fund raising method is conflicting is another matter out of the Club's control." If there is a governance issue I wondered why the Supporters Club couldn't crowdfund on the Al Qadi's behalf. There could be many reasons for this. I wonder if the previous well documented indiscretion with the supporters club accounts may have undermined confidence? I haven't asked this question as I think it's not my place to ask this as I am not a member of the Supporters Club and there are people elected to have these types of conversations. I copied in the Supporters club so they are aware of this conversation. Wael seems to have a strange relationship with his family and us. At times he appears to be the key member of Dwane Sports, looking for investment, but willing to sell the club if necessary. At other times he appears to be Bristol Rovers, keen to take the club forward but thwarted by Dwane Sports. I suppose who he appears to be depends on what the question is.

OK - £4750 X 8500 does make £40mil... but obviously it is unlikely we have 8,500 with £4750 in spare change. But if you have actual ownership, then we could well find quite a few 'wealthy' fans willing to put significantly more in - if they can have 'a say'. Can't see Dwane Sports embracing that though. There are various different ways to structure ownership. Personally I like the way German football is structured and that Clubs (with just a couple of exceptions) are 51% fan owned. Sadly - that's never going to happen in England. The current 'business model' we have is totally unsustainable and is going to go 'pop' soon though. And other structures may than have a chance to be established. No way do we have 'quite a few wealthy fans willing to put money in', enough to cover the 8888 who don't. You know the financial details of over 8,500 people and also their level of potential commitment to investing in Bristol Rovers. You must be ever so knowledgeable.

And my common sense leads me to believe out of the 42,000 people we took to Wembley in 2007 (might even be a few more now), there might be enough wealth to do something meaningful in terms of fan ownership (in whatever guise that might be). I can't stand the "can't do it" mentality of some people. Easier to be apathetic and shrug your shoulders and assume something is probably too much trouble to be bothered. Let's just put up with incompetent owners. Let's just put up with a dilapidated stadium. Let's just put up with being a struggling tier 3 side that can never achieve anything meaningful. Yay - we're Bristol Rovers. We're mediocre and we're doing are very best to keep it that way. Happy Thursday.

If the ten pound was compulsory to post on here I wonder how many would pay and really help the FFSC to make a difference? Ok, ok, good points made.. I’ll renew in a minute 😅

Not really a case of "can't do it", more a case of not enough people having the money to do it. 42,000 don't turn up regularly, 8,000 do, and as someone has pointed out, that's in the region of £19k each. Can't see it, but if you want start the ball rolling with your bid and see how many follow, then carry on.

I suspect at least 1000 are casual fans, or fans who can only make the odd game, or even neutrals

Easy.

Got 27p and a gobstopper. What are you waiting for, give Wael a call! Although, with communication at our club, I don't think we need any more gobstoppers

I just wish the board would come clean with about what's going on with stadium development, we have been led along believing that something is going on for long enough now.

Wael came out saying we're looking for sites in March. He also said he speaks to investors/buyers every day & will sell the club if someone can come in and build us a stadium faster.
