I live an hour and 20 mins from Bristol and finished work at 1pm on a Saturday. That would give me a thirty minute window with a clear run down the M32, find a parking space about 20 minute walk from the ground. Fortunately yesterday I had a clear run.
Now I bought a print home ticket so didn’t need to queue. I got in with two minutes to spare.
I was considering going Tuesday but it will be a last minute decision. I won’t get a chance to print the ticket at home and my phone is a work one with restricted email access.
So in answer to some of the above - it isn’t possible to get there any earlier but more importantly it deters any walk up supporters / one off from Bristol who don’t know how we as a club operate match day ticjeting

Surely it's hardly a great problem to arrive a decent time before kickoff, go to the ticket office, buy a ticket and then go to the turnstiles to enter the ground. trying living in Bideford this time of year traffic nightmare until Tiverton then on m5 until WSM them up to Bristol arrived at ground 5 past 3 then had to water around getting ticket from office then run back to north terrace to get in! Lived in Bideford for quite sometime and fully aware of ND link road and M5 especially on Summer Saturdays and BH's etc. Traffic has not just suddenly become a problem, so we always allowed plenty of time and never expected a 2.5 hour trip to be the norm at anytime of year or day. My mate travelled up last Friday to Bristol from Bideford, left 1100, arrived 1600. He does the journey on a very regular basis and now accepts if there's one small accident, that time can be the norm.

If we ever get a big name home cup draw, suddenly I don’t think getting a ticket in advance would be too much of a problem for people.

I work miles away and personally yes it is, I race to the ground and if I’m lucky I’d get in. I live over a hundred miles away, ST holder but always allow plenty of time in case of accidents on A48/M4. The time I arrive would quite easily allow me to go to the ticket office in plenty of time.if Ineeded to.

I think there should always be a few turnstiles for 'Pay as you go' supporters, its all very well sayin 'every one else manages it, its th modern way' etc etc but th fact is many just wanna roll up on th day and walk in.This polarised cr@p don't help anyone, particularly th club - folk are different - thank god, we all does things differently.
Now, yous can slag em off all you want, but th question is - Do yous want their money and support or not???

I’ve read a lot about why the crowd was down yesterday and the answer was simple. By removing pay on the turnstile you will lose 10-15% of your match day attendance. I have seen it horse race meetings around the country. Not everyone is computer savvy or has a printer to print home or lives within a short drive to the ground to buy in the shop. Bring back pay on the day at the turnstile ASAP. I agree. I was shocked that the gate was only 7600 yesterday when normally it would had been 9k- 10k. Ok weather and a lack of attacking signings played its part, but if I had gone yesterday I would had turned up to the ground at 2:45pm and joined the que to pay on the gate.Even tho Ive used the new system 5/10 times last year I forgot until seeing this thread that its ticket only. Surely a card payment/contactless option could be added on the gate if the club no longer wanted to use cash? If so that gate yesterday would had been at least 500 higher.

I can't see how yesterday's gate would have been 500 higher if we'd had pay on the day, when fans have had 3 months to decide whether to go or not. Perhaps the low attendance will make the BoD wake up and realise attendances will soon be into the low 6,000's if we don't start winning games at the Mem.

When purchased screenshot the ticket and then present the screenshot at the turnstile machine.

Bring back pay on the day at the turnstile ASAP. Is it really that hard to walk to the ticket office on the day and pay for a ticket that you then use at the turnstile? Exactly. What's so hard about handing over your cash at the ticket office then scanning your ticket as you go through the turnstile? Not much different. sh**e weather and sh**e football probably had more to do with it. At least last season Linesy was worth the admission price.

I mean in total it probably takes around 5-10 minutes is it really that much of a hassle? If it is then fair enough but I can’t see loads of people being put off by 5-10 minutes of waiting, this is literally the case at every other ground I’ve ever visited on an away day when paying on the day as well. Its the modern way and i do get to games early so i dont have to queue twice in reality. But i dislike it and my dad refused to go again,i mean old people do struggle with stuff like this. You are right in this case BB. It’s no good people saying you don’t need to print it off just show it on your phone. Blimey do people really think everyone has a phone that does those things? Trouble is if people manage without potd they think everyone can. Everyone’s different and has different circumstances so I’m sure thatbif there was a potd gate the attendance would improve. But it would be a good idea if the football could improve! That would improve the gate.😉 UTG!
