Could possibly be on his way. 3rd in the running to be the next Grimsby manager at 7/1 and apparently was at their game against Northampton yesterday. Think I heard him say on BT Sport the other day that he was looking for a managerial role. Best thing he could do as he is not going anywhere at the Rovers Harsh but true and you cannot escape that. DC knew what was coming, in terms of finances and was closer to most others on the topic of the training ground & stadium. I hold Chris H in high regards. He has worked wonders in getting us young players that GC is now starting to blood. One would hope

Don't know why he'd want go to Grimsbury. The place is a run-down shithole and the managers job there is a precarious one. He has security of employment here, but I suppose the lure of managerial kudos is too hard to resist. A shame though, I believe he is doing a good job here but there you go. It’s not a done deal as yet so it could be that it’s not going to happen for sure.

I don’t know about that Phil, regardless of opinions on style of play, it wouldn’t have gone unnoticed what he has done here and with funding being so tight. BTW, his words, not mine on the funding. I have no idea on that, none at all.

It’s not a done deal as yet so it could be that it’s not going to happen for sure. Indeed it's not. I have been having a read of the Grimsby forum and I've learnt that CH was born in Cleethorpes and played for the Mariners. That explains why he would even contemplate being their manager, however why he would ever want to go back there having sampled the delights of living in the glorious West Country is anyone's guess! It seems from the forum that the owner, a Mr Fenty, is extremely reluctant to invest any money in the club. Sound familiar?

My view on CH is that in his only foray in management as the number one he had a tough assignment trying, but eventually failing, to keep Torquay up on a shoestring hence Grimsby without much cash is unlikely to faze him, however, they should not expect him to tear up any trees. Since he has been here he has always represented the club in an exemplary manner and has stressed the need to ensure his role turns out well adjusted and respectful young men as well as talented footballers. He would be a loss to us but the Grimsby first team squad would benefit from his input into the standards required on and off the pitch. If he is to leave I hope both he and our hierarchy bookmark each other as potential future partners when the managerial wheel of fortune inevitably takes another turn.

Perhaps he just sees it as going back up North?

The post are now reporting that Chris Hargreaves is now front runner for the job.
Like I put earlier on in this thread, I think he’d make a good manager, just wasn’t expecting the opportunity for him to do so to arise so quickly.

Just a bit of guidance from the bench, we can still achieve.

Really don't want Hargreaves. Zero credentials.
His only managerial experience was relegating Torquay to the Conference 3 or 4 years ago losing more games than he won.
There's a reason Coughlan replaced him as assistant as soon as he was able to do so.

I think that when they appointed them as caretakers he had no choice but to keep him in place when it became permanent, but wanted Dunne the whole time. Hargreaves did a really good job with the Development squad and managed them well. He comes across well and players seem to respect him. If the club didn't rate him he would have been gone in the summer. He would get my vote and I think he would get the fans on side when they heard him.

I personally don't think he does come acorss very well in interviews.
Coughlan wouldn't have replaced Hargreaves as assistant if he felt he was doing an invaluable job and as I said, his only managerial role was 3 or 4 years ago relegating Torquay to non league.
If he wasn't already on the payroll there is no way he'd be in the running.
