Could possibly be on his way. 3rd in the running to be the next Grimsby manager at 7/1 and apparently was at their game against Northampton yesterday. Think I heard him say on BT Sport the other day that he was looking for a managerial role.

Mansell to step up if it happens? Chris runs the academy manse manages the under 23’s, the likely replacement in house would be Parinello

I’d wish him well. Be interesting if did he get a role to see if he would look to take Cameron with him too!

Has previous managerial experience, comes across well in interviews and knows the place well having been in various roles. Certainly wouldn't want us get in the way of a job at Grimsby though if it did arise, it would be a great opportunity for him.

I agree. He’s done wonders for our academy and youth set up and it would be might big boots to fill.
I have a feeling the next manager for us would be Mansell, don’t know why, something just tells me it will. Has that Ollie feel about it.
If Hargreaves does get it we shouldn’t stand in his way.

Seems a big step up from No 3 at Rovers to managing a League 2 side, does he have any previous connections to Grimsby?

I also thought the way DC had collected a good group of coaches with good communication skills around him the club were appointing with an eye to succession planning. A year ago I was even surprised that GC and not Chris H was handed the job, albeit in a caretaker role initially. Perhaps he was disappointed by that, I don’t know. Whatever, I’ve always been impressed by him and he did a decent job at Torquay under very difficult circumstances before the financial collapse in the Conference when they’d had a medium start. Good luck to him if he gets a chance of the Grimsby job. Would do a good job I would have thought. UTG!

What happened to Chris exactly here. Like mentioned above I thought he came across really well half of last season as gc no2 not sure why he needed to be replaced even by those other two who to me don’t sound anywhere near as competent. Wish him well Chris he’s done a good job here

Deep down inside hargreaves must feel disappointed to be overlooked for the caretaker role when coughlan got the nod ahead of him.

He was the Development squad coach under DC and now runs the academy - so that's a demotion I'd say.

Don't know why he'd want go to Grimsbury. The place is a run-down shithole and the managers job there is a precarious one.
He has security of employment here, but I suppose the lure of managerial kudos is too hard to resist.
A shame though, I believe he is doing a good job here but there you go.

Think I heard him say on BT Sport the other day that he was looking for a managerial role. And an inspired choice it would be, in my opinion of course. I was hoping we would hold onto him and have him in the wings, as it were, should we ever lose GC but we do have Mansell and I doubt many would complain if he was installed as a manager. Anyway, it hasn’t happened yet and I, personally, hope we can hold onto him
