I can't honestly remember a time when we've played "good football" and been successful probably under Holloway. We just can't seem to attract "footballers" to the club anymore, our only decent centre mid for the last decade has been Lines. Regardless to go from GC's football to a passing game is going to take a complete overall of the club, just when we were in contention for a play off, or better, come May. I would say we did play some really good passing football under DC in L2 and the first season back in L1. That was inspired by Lines return, let's see if BG can do what no other recent manager has done and bring in a quality ACM other than Lines.

Knock down the east stand and build a massive stand all the way down that side and there you have it 20,000 capacity stadium. Thing is our board won’t do it. Won't, or can't? Planning permission died years ago, and it wasn't achievable then. And I'm not sure building a new East Stand would take us up to 20k anyway. A new East stand would only take us to 20,000 if it held about 12,000 fans. It would cost a fortune, look ridiculous and wouldn't get planning permission. Apart from that, it's a cunning plan.

You honestly think Wael doesn't want us to be in the Championship? Yes, not whilst we're at the Mem, it's fairly obvious now it's not viable or Wael would have pulled out all the stops to keep GC, or appoint a manager with a similar approach. Its clear BG is more interested in playing football "his way" than going all out for a top 6 finish. I just hope Wael is prepared to back him in the transfer market this January, unlike it seemed he wanted to back GC in the summer. For a club like us, and many others of similar size, the most successful periods from a fans and financial point of view are the seasons where we are challenging for playoff slots in L1. Attendances are high, fans are happy, wages remain relatively low, and it's a win-win. A season or few in the Championship might be nice to begin with but it'll end up costing us a fortune. So it really wouldn't surprise me to learn that with our current infrastructure, our owners, or those who get to call Wael 'brother', would prefer we don't get promoted.
