Final season, so if JCH won't sign a new contract he'll be sold to the best bidder. No way a Tom Lockyer situation will be allowed again. I hope he signs an extension though. If he's out of contract, doesn't that mean he goes for free? Just asking. I assume SSU means if JCH doesn't agree to a new deal soon, we'll sell him this current off-season to the highest bidder rather than allow him to run down his contract and leave for free like Locks did (though that's still possible).

I’d rather have Toney than Femar Diédhiou who that lot down the road for £5.5 m . So on that basis he’s worth about £7m ..... JCH £15m 😁 How can you compare though? One of them is playing in a much better standard of football. Very true. London rd does see better football than Ashton gate . So it's impossible to compare 😉

Maybe, with JCH now seeing tangible improvements and investment, it will see him sign a new contract ? I would like to think WAQ and his team would be all over this but we are talking about rovers so we never know

That's assuming they are any bidders? Only Charlton have apparently bid before and they now look like being a L1 side stuck with meeting the £2K p.w. budget like every otherL1 side. JCH's has played for two of the L1 promoted sides so it's v. unlikely he'll be rejoining either of them and Wycombe can't afford him. JCH will either need to accept whatever we are prepared to offer before the 6 August or see what offers are around in January or even next summer but if he can't find a championship side to sign him the present Rovers contract might be the best he's going to get.

Is he in his final season with us or, is he signed up for another season? Final season, so if JCH won't sign a new contract he'll be sold to the best bidder. No way a Tom Lockyer situation will be allowed again. I hope he signs an extension though. Which of course he would need to agree to - you can’t sell him against his will. If he chooses to run down his contract and become a free agent in a years time he’s quite within his rights to do so. Obviously hope he doesn’t!

So injury prone that only five players in the squad made more appearances in the season just gone. Last season (18/19) he played 46 games and 40 games the season before that.

If he stays it'll be interesting to see if he's less injury prone now we will have a decent pitches at the changing ground.

If he was genuinely injury prone then he wouldn't have played as many games as he has the past 3 seasons.

Well this escalated quickly, I thought what I said was controversial he did have an unspecified groin injury that he had an operation on though...

Why would you think it would be very unlikely for him to rejoin Coventry or Rotherham? It wouldn't be the first time a player got resigned by an old club having proven themselves elsewhere.

Name a few ? Not doubting you know some but I can’t think of the top of my head many players who have gone back to clubs after being bombed out for not making the grade

I genuinely don’t know Anyway , I’m talking players more our level , not World Cup winning international superstars! 😁

I genuinely don’t know Anyway , I’m talking players more our level , not World Cup winning international superstars! 😁 I'll be honest, you've got me there! I can't recall specific players but I'm fairly sure it's happened a few times, but of course it depends on the varying circumstances of the player and the club in question. The circumstances surrounding JCH leaving Coventry and then Coventry going up to the Championship 18 months later, meanwhile JCH has been tearing up L1 with his new club...those situations have got to be fairly uncommon. However I would argue that Coventry would be a decent destination for him. He has an affinity with that club having described it as "like coming home" when he returned there first time round, and he would make a good addition to any Championship newcomer looking to bring in a wildcard striker.

I did say "very unlikely" anything is possible but I can't see either of those sides paying £1m for untested Championship striker, one they let leave for free(?) in the past.

From Fergies book : There are one or two football agents I simply do not like, and Mino Raiola, Paul Pogba’s agent is one of them. I distrusted him from the moment I met him." “We had Paul under a three-year contract, and it had a one-year renewal option which we were eager to sign." “Raiola suddenly appeared on the scene and our first meeting was a fiasco. He and I were like oil and water."

Very clever player, knows how to put the breaks on with a defender behind him and win cheap free kicks.
