JCH initially did a great job for us and his goals kept us up. A tight defence and a firing JCH up front resulted in loads of points. Then he lost interest and it was best for both him and the club that he went. People can argue that we sold him cheap but his contract was ending by the minute and he showed no desire whatsoever to sign another one regardless of the terms. It is interesting that despite his form for us no Championship side were prepared to even gamble on him. There is no comparison with Toney. Toney has scored goals regularly in the Championship; JCH can't even get into a Championship team let alone score goals at that level. He lost interest when Garner turned up, and who can blame him? Hahahaha

For me Starnes has allowed a £7m player leave for £1.2m. Horrendous business decision would have rather get nothing and him leave this summer but we’d be in l1. Gross misconduct by Starnes

Gross misconduct by Starnes Who would have paid £7m for a player who only found his feet, so to speak, with us, and spent a lot of time injured during that period? I'm not an apologist for Starnes, but 'gross misconduct' is a bit OTT.

That’s the thing, I think £1.2 million plus a sell on clause which will in all likelihood see us a net another million, was probably a good deal for a bloke that only had one year left on his contract, was a bit injury prone and had only scored consistently for a year with us. However, we didn’t replace his goals which is one of the main contributing reasons to why we went down, which in itself will probably lose us a few million in revenue if we are only in League Two for a couple of years at a minimum, maybe more if we are there for a prolonged amount of time. Fantastic business by Posh though, you can’t help but admire their transfer business when it comes to strikers over the last 5-10 years.

Tbh, it was a good bit of business from both clubs considering the circumstances. JCH was injury prone, had a year left on his contract and massively overweight under Garner's summer plan. Good deal for Posh if he works out well, but if he gets injured then it's wasted money. Likewise for us, considering everything above then we did well and if he'd have been injured immediately at Posh, we'd have been laughing. Does make you wonder though about Barton's comments on fitness and injuries - JCH doesn't seem to have the same injury worries since he's moved to Posh.
