Peterborough want £11m for Toney!!! Which is insane/ridiculous but now the world we live in.
So based on this what would JCH be worth? £7m at least id say.

At least £55.5 million in today’s market.

No L1 player, no matter how good they are, should EVER be worth even close to £11M.
These transfer fees these days make me sick, but more fool the clubs who pay the stupid fees.
It's been a slippery slope, but there is a fee every so often that just causes the market to sky rocket, with no rhyme or reason. I'd say Andy Carroll to Liverpool for £35M was one. Then all of a sudden every bang average striker was worth at least as much on the basis of "well if Newcastle got £35M for him, we should command £X million for so and so".
It's ridiculous and somehow it has to stop rising at some point...doesn't it!?

But they wanted an insane amount for Maddison but got sod all in the end (perhaps £250k for his period at Hull on loan). Big difference between what they want and what they get. I think Posh will have learnt some humbling lessons on how the transfer market works over the past year. UTG!

Players are like artwork. They are worth what someone is willing to pay. In an ideal world the following would happen.... it won't but I'm a dreamer. Companies realise that they are selling the same amount of products despite less people watching adverts on pay channels as - let's be honest - tv football at the moment is just not appealing. Future TVs deals are not worth as much and teams cannot spend silly money. As for parachute payments 😡 What other business would an employee be kept on a massive contract when at the end of the year the company is a poor performer. In any other job you'd be booted out. I'm hoping that the contracts Wael is giving out are performance related. I don't know how much clubs make for being in the Championship but would assume that our boys are on reasonable money with an exceptional bonus should they perform.

Posh have always managed to get mad fees for their players. Either way, a fit and in contract JCH should be worth at least £2.5m. Toney, because of his pedigree, will probably fetch at last £5m.
£11m is just insane.

One of them is playing in a much better standard of football.

Toney is a very good player but I would not swap JCH for any player in our division. It will be a sad loss for us if he leaves

Ivan Toney 40 league goals in 78 games, JCH 24 goals in 42 games, so not a lot between them if JCH can continue scoring this season, it's madness to think Toney's worth £10m+ but we'll do well to get £1m+ for JCH if he doesn't sign a new contract.

No way a Tom Lockyer situation will be allowed again. I hope he signs an extension though.

I have said for ages that JCH is worth £7M and Rovers should take £5.5M lowest.
People are saying he should go for £2M. Not good for Rovers as I think he is worth 2 strikers buying fee and wages!
When you have so many Premier League strikers like Joelinton, Calvin Klein!!!, etc. being bought for £40M plus, then you have to put JCH in context especially wrt his work rate and the enthusiasm and gee up he brings to the rest of the team, not to mention the fans!
He will be worth at least £13M if injury free very soon?
UTG

As much as it is I think Toney would prove to be a good signing for a Championship team looking for a new striker.
