Does anyone think that any manager in the world wouldn’t want more striker? Anyone really think that TW came to garner and said “I’ve got a cracking 6ft 20 goal a season league one striker” and BG said no?! If we went in light on strikers it’s the clubs fault. When Garner came in how many actual strikers did we have? JCH and Nicholas just off him. The club doesn’t like buying strikers because they are expensive! Quite, but out of everyone at the club it’s not Tisdale’s fault is it? He wasn’t here when the recruitment was made yet he is being judged partially on the basis of only having one fit (actually decent) striker available to him. Harsh.

We have to go and get Tis a striker right now. Lots of championship squads will need to let 4th / 5th strikers go on Loan. Just do a deal and get someone in the door.

I assume he made the decision to let JCH leave w/o putting up a decent fight, I still can't understand how Posh could offer him a far better contract when both clubs had to work to the new salary cap. Plus when we were all calling out for more strikers, or even attacking players, BG & TW signed Liddle, a DCM, & Koike, a RWB. We let JCH, Nichols and Reilly leave this summer and replaced them with Hanlon & Ayunga we're probably paying those two less than half of the other three's combined wages? Then spent their wages on 4 LB's and 10 CM's.

Back to my first point do you honestly think garner didn’t want another striker? Didn’t want to spend £1mil of transfer funds? Of course not. The club want to buy cheap and sell on at a profit.

People seem desperate to split hairs, presumably to support their investment in certain personnel at the club at the expense of those they dislike. There is collective culpability here, both on the part of TW who on the face of it seems to have been inspired purely by statistics and on the part of Garner for opting for a strategy that relied on flexibility more than square pegs in square holes. The whole football side of the operation has f**ked up massively and consistently since 5pm on December 21st over a year ago. The extremely worrying thing is I have no idea when they are next going to make the right decision either!

What a ridiculous post! So if I understand you the last chance saloon usually means that he’s close to being sacked. How would that work? At the moment it’s Wael who’s keeping this club afloat. Without him we’d all be posting about forming an AFC Bristol Rovers FC club and hoping we do it quickly enough to be in the National League next season, and not a disappointing loss to Oxford in League 1. Nothing like the 13/14 season. We never had the quality of Oztumer, Daly, Hanlan nor Nicholson then to call on. Once Ozzy has fully recovered from CV and once the others are fit we’ll be fine. But we do need to sign a striker this month just like we did last window. But I get your frustration and I hope Tis will bring a cooler head to the situation we’re in than most on here, I’m sure he will. And again, only imo, it would be stupid to even think about changing managers. It would make us a total laughing stock amongst all football followers as well as giving the panic signs to everyone, not least the players and any team we play. UTG! Strewth- last chance saloon in terms of keeping us up. Surely that’s clear? No. Not clear at all. UTG!

It's not harsh to judge the bloke as a total for bringing on a 6th defender in place of a centre mid at 1-0 down. He can't hide behind Garner for that.

IMO, if Tisdale keeps BRFC in the league then fantastic, if he does not then he should be history, at the moment, for me he spends too much time talking about soft issues, while making ridiculous decisions on both selection and substitutions, and most importantly we keep losing, not a great combination.
