Perhaps I’m being a bit harsh but he seems pretty unlikeable to me. His comments today are just dismissive and a bit rude! I didn’t hear it live so could have been tongue in cheek to be fair. Think the fellas on a bit of a cushy number. Clearly has absolute faith of Wael tho so likely to be here for a while. He’ll probably guide us to a winning streak now....!!

Think its not unfair to read what was said and think that.
I think the Cushy number? That's debatable... Possibly possibly not.
Do think he should be a little softer.

It’s a bit like being caught between a rock and a hard place with him, I want him to fail but want the Rovers to do well. Either way, it appears bullshit baffles brains where he is concerned.

If you’re getting results then being unlikeable is the cost of doing business, but when you aren’t, as he isn’t, acting the way that he is not a good look. You have to earn the right to arrogance and he hasn’t earned it by a long chalk especially as he seems to prefer roles that don’t require him to use the tools that he provides. Someone on otib described him as looking like an angry bin man and I have to say I can see where they are coming from!

You are being very harsh.
I'm not necessarily TW's biggest fan, but he does come across as frank and honest to me. After two 'diplomatic' managers in Garner and Tisdale, we probably need someone to tell it as it is.

His recruitment record has been very poor to say the least. In truth, he struck gold with JCH and seemingly has had enough credit in the bank for all the subsequent failures to have fallen under the radar. Any other Head of Recruitment would have been hauled over the coals a long time ago. Comical Tommy managed to wangle a job promotion instead.
It's nothing personal, I'm sure he's a sound fella but he should be held accountable for his performance if we're going to be firing managers left and right.
The warning signs were there as soon as, in one of his first orders of business, he signed up his useless crap son on a two year deal. Where is he now? Oh yeah, turning out for the Dog and Duck Old Boys seconds on a Sunday morning.
Bit funny that one of the best managers we've had in our history is walking the plank a few months after his arrival thanks, in part, to the terrible performances of those signed since Widdrington's arrival. How much was Stefan Payne again? Oh yeah, that was 200k spunked up against the wall. Kinell!

Well, he’s a BRFC employee so I really want him to do well, why wouldn’t I? I’m not so angry with him that most on here seem to be. I suspect that whatever we released last summer (Nichols, Craig etc) was financially the same as what we recruited and remembering what was said last summer and the optimism most had I just think it’s easy to be wise with hindsight. And of course I have no way of knowing the truth behind our recruitment (budget exceeded, no room in the squad, we tried to get some but they wouldn’t come etc.)The one big mistake I would say was the failure to replace JCH with anyone. But that’s a lesson we never seem to learn. Again remembering what’s been said on other TW threads, most on here were very happy with his interviews about how he did the recruitment so we’re all just frustrated with where we are at the moment. And I’m glad if he’s got a bit of swagger, arrogance about him but in a more straightforward manner. I think we’re going to need that in the month and weeks ahead. I liked Tis but it was clear, imo, that the players didn’t seem to be playing for him and that can’t be allowed to happen. TW has spoken well of the players and now is their chance to pay him back and perform. I hope they want to play for him. UTG!

If its the Portsmouth preview you are referring to, I think its a good interview. He has to set the right tone and I think he did that well. Guess we will find out how well at around 9 pm tomorrow!

He spoke about how we should forge closer links with City so we can take more of their players on loan too, that caused some consternation at the time which has since been forgotten. But yeah, I think the profit on JCH has managed to keep him from being accountable for our current league position. Relegation is going to take a considerable chunk out of that JCH money though, if not swallow it completely.

Seems fine to me . Heard him speak a couple of yrs ago and he was down to earth , very knowledgeable and seemed a good bloke . Clearly the posters moaning would sooner have Tisdale talking in riddles! I can't see TW taking any sh1t from the players if they don't perform, can you? It'll be interesting to listen to TW further interviews this week if we lose to both Pompey and the Gills, which looks a real possibility.

But it would be nice to have a tough talker with a bit of class who doesn’t seek to blame others. I don’t know how you can have the job title of “head of recruitment” and not be responsible in some small way for results on the pitch. I’m sure he’s taken all the credit for JCH’s success though rather than put it all down to the coaching or GC.

Why ignore, Jaakola, Ogogo, Davis & Nicholson, he's being doing OK when signing experienced players, gambling on youngsters has been his recent downfall but I doubt many HoR's get that right.

Surely a tough talker loses the effect of talking tough if starts accepting blame, as I said it'll be interesting to see what he's saying later this week, he seems convinced our poor form is down to how the players have been managed, he's now got a chance to prove it, if he fails then he may struggle to come back from such a failure.
