JB's latest quote: 'Jonson Clarke-Harris was starting for Peterborough and he was a disgrace, he couldn’t move'. He was so unfit he had an assist in injury time for Posh to equalise....I guess the Fleetwood players must have been even less fit. Again, JB should stay, but these type of public quotes are an embarrassment. Barton literally criticised Garner for working the players too hard before games in his interview the other day. Now he’s criticising fitness? You genuinely couldn’t make it up. I think he’s misunderstanding the type of player JCH is, he was never that fit or enigmatic when he was banging them in for us. He’d just have inspired moments where he would spring into life and bully defenders with his power and directness.

It just about sums up some of our supporters, to even think about sacking a manager, that’s not even managing HIS team. Who do you actually think you are? To call for somebody to get sacked, for previous endeavours. Get a grip and support the club, or find something else to do.

No, no, there's loads of candidates out there falling over themselves to join us. Duff, Flynn, um, er, Sheridan, Holloway. Pity Cook, Adkins and Cowley went elsewhere. They'd have jumped at the chance. I actually think there are good candidates out there. Sol Campbell is a good example. 🤣

Maybe thats why Wael wants him to implement what was in place at Fleetwood?? Like I said earlier, Wael is the owner and the person who he believes he is the correct man. Whether you believe he is not the right person or like me will let him make the changes and then see how it goes it all boils down to Wael. If it works then all good but if it fails then Wael will then have to dig deep into his pockets. The fact that it seems Wael is going to let him make the changes we will just have to wait and see. That makes the presumption that Wael would have accepted relegation as part of any potential plan. You believe that? It must have seemed likely to Wael that we could well be relegated for the last few weeks but he still seems content for JB to continue with implenting plan, or at least investigating what he feels needs to be implemented. In truth he's taken on the role MS &/or TW should be doing.

"I tell you I didn't do it 'cause I wasn't there Don't blame me, it just isn't fair You listen to their side, now listen to mine Can't think of a story, sure, you'll find me sometime"
Now pass the blame and don't blame me Just close your eyes and count to three (One, two, three) Then you'll forget and I'll be gone Relegation, from league 1
It wasn't me either, Its Tisdales fault. Told me it was the players that Garner bought. I've got a wife and three kids you know They'll tell you I've gone straight, at least I think so I'm as honest as the day is long I tell all the local press that I can do no wrong Now pass the blame and don't blame me Just close your eyes and count to three (One, two, three) Then I'll be gone and you'll not see The broken promises, broken dreams Pass the blame and don't blame me Just close your eyes and count to three (One, two, three) Then I'll be gone and I'll forget That what you give is what you get Pass the blame and don't blame me Just close your eyes and count to three (One, two, three)

Barton has managed 34 league one games this season across two clubs.
Played 34 Won 11 Draw 7 Lost 16
Points per game 1.18
He has an 11th and 6th place finish in two season prior to that on one of the biggest budgets in league one.
What is everyone seeing that I’m not?

Even more so he is blaming Rodmans injury on pre season...the guy didn’t train until November and missed the whole pre season with a virus.

Which means all we have to go on is his performance as manager and that has been appalling! I don’t understand why many are desperate for him to be the person to restructure the club! The club needs to be sorted out, top to bottom - an external expert is being brought in, no doubt in full consultation with Wael, with JB being the mouthpiece as he has experience of working with this person at Fleetwood. Within a short time of JB and team being here, players were saying that it felt like a totally different club - in a good way. They were able to be frank with JB, about the standards, and what was going on behind the scenes, he has taken this to Wael - who has finally had his eyes opened. JB has a lot of fairly recent experience as to how top clubs operate, and the standards which are expected on the non-playing side - why would you chose not to listen to somebody with that background? Nobody can deny that the results haven't been what we would have wanted, others have already eloquently put forward the rationale for this, so I won't repeat it, we've all read the various threads. JB may well turn out to be like the Emperor's new clothes, however, I think we can only judge him fairly when he's been given the same opportunity as the previous managers to bring some of his own players in. The players were always going to come out and say positive things. They always do! Also, he hardly had tough acts to follow! I think it's fair to say BG was judged on how he performed before making any signings as was PT. Why should JB be any different just because as a player he played at a higher level? Whilst I don't rate JB and think we are seemingly backing someone who talks a good game but has been an abject failure, I hope I'm spectacularly wrong!

He joined in February knowing he couldn't bring his own players in and is performing worse than BG (which takes some doing as BG was sh!t)! I'm not saying he should be sacked, I'm asking what he has done to be trusted to restructure the entire club? None of this means I don't support the club or need to find something else to do so why don't you take your condescension elsewhere?!

He’s had a third of the season so he knows the squad , who needs getting rid of and where we need to improve. Who knows if he’ll be successful next season but starting again in the summer would just be putting back getting things sorted. Coughlan changed a team lacking in toughness very similar to what we’ve got now by just making a few changes here and there it wasn’t a massive turn around in personnel but he brought the right positions and the right personalities. I think Barton will do similar over this summer and I’m fairly confident he’ll bring the right tough personalities with leadership skills which is what we’ve so badly missed.

Barton's record is indeed underwhelming and I, for one, find it pretty disappointing. In mitigation, he inherited a shambles of a squad and no opportunities to change the players.
In my view, it became clear that this team was heading for the drop after a few games into the season. The mystery is why the squad was not significantly strengthened in January. Burton were in the same position and make some significant additions in January. Now look at the implications. Burton stay up and we can look forward to exciting games against Harrowgate, Barrow and Salford.
I'm a supporter of retaining Barton. Give him the opportunity to bring in his players and then let's assess his managerial qualities.
P.S. I forgot that we strengthened the squad in January. We acquired a right back and a loan goalkeeper!
