Too old to cut and paste but love Joey's interview with Sam Frost, he will get us into the championship and when he does I'm going to do a GGMI boom on this post.
Appreciates he has not done a good job but wow what some uppercut repostes.

I'm over his talk now. If he could have backed up his talk with results (i.e. us NOT getting relegated) then it would hold a lot more sway for me.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the guy, I think he's an interesting character, quite articulate and certainly passionate, which I like. However, he has to convert his talk into results for me now. I've become too cynical to accept anything else.

Wasn't there a fight between PT and TW over this issue leading to his sacking?

Christ, the bloke thinks he's a world beater because he was a pretty decent player. News for you Joey - being a half-decent player does not make you Alex Fergusson - stop all this sh*te talk like you are some proven manager when - the truth is - you've got less out of this bunch than the 2 before you (who should be "struck off" - i.e. never work again!). You couldn't make it up.
"I knew I had the court case coming up on June 1 and I imagine after that my stock and managerial position might be a little bit more appealing.". Haha, wow; says it all. The bloke is a total and utter narcissist with delusions of grandeur. You are a very, VERY average (at best) manager Joey - do not flatter yourself - one half decent finish at Fleetwood Town and he thinks he's Pep Guardiola hahaha.
Credit to him, he knows how to work a crowd. And for many that will be enough (see thread starter). For a growing number of us, we can see it for what it is - words and bluster - I'm half expecting a scooby-do style end to this at full-time on the final day, where Joey Barton is unmasked to reveal Steve Hamer.

BG had the worst record of any Rovers manager ever and took us from being 4th in L1 to creating the mess of a squad we have that JB is holding the hand of as we head to L2.Tisdale had one window to change it and was dismissed, Joey has had nothing, no window and he is working with a pile of horse sh** and trying to build as castle with it. I love JB's and how he talks c satmon sense.I haven't been able to say that since DC was here. |

FWIW, don't get me wrong - I'm not for a minute suggesting it would have been an easy job. But it WAS possible.
Not only are we going down, there is a very, very realistic chance it will be as bottom of the whole league.
Regardless of how much blame people are happy to place on Barton, that IS NOT good enough and SOME blame HASto lie with him.

Irrespective of our predictions though, the fact is the players were (just about) doing enough to keep their heads above water. Since JB came in, we've set fire to the boat, thrown ourselves overboard, and tied weights to our legs. Losing to all the teams around us is ultimately what has been the main factor in cementing our fate and some blame (at the very least) has to lie at his door there IMO. |

Garner was boring from the beginning. Tisdale the same. I thought Barton would re-ignite me, but that quickly wore out. I do enjoy seeing new article on facebook everyday though with one outlandish headline. At least it makes me laugh. |

Losing to all the teams around us has definitely sealed our fate. We have had very, very winnable games against Northampton, Wigan, Swindon etc since JB came in that would see us 8 points better off than we are right now.
Losing games and doing anything other than concentrating 100% on the relegation battle and keeping your head down is a joke.
Openly admitting you turned the channel over to watch champs league instead of MK Dons, our opponents tomorrow, when we can still stay up?
Apparently he watched all of our pre season training videos but can’t watch 90 minutes of one of our opponents! A game that is winnable and could just keep us in the fight!
He has talked about Everest, Gordon Ramsay, striking off doctors, the coliseum, army generals, other coaches training methods, cancer etc etc but still managed to play Dave T at left centre half when he hadn’t played a game for months.
Look beyond the bullshit

So like the recent BG fan boys you're now trying to re-write history, before Tisdale was dismissed we hadn't won for weeks and even managed to lose 7-1 to L1 giants Accrington and he was suggesting we needed a magician to help us score! We did pick up when Barton first arrived but we then lost both Rodman and Nicholson and Oztumer has never found any form since he had COVID. Given we have defenders who give a goal away a game and strikers who can't score it's hardly surprising we're heading for L2. |
