Not surprising really 1 of the 3 had to go.
ayunga offers something different with his size Hanlan or Daly the club will want Hanlan to come good as they paid a fee for him

2 prolific strikers or this level coming in then I hope. I can't watch another season of Hanlan falling over and the ball bouncing off Ayunga. Goalscorers incoming hopefully. More likely a 30 plus guy who used to score but less so recently and is in his last season or two of league football. Hope I'm wrong but that's what I expect.

Frees up a bit of space in the squad and wages to buy another striker so to that end it’s decent for us. As others said Barton was never a fan.
Disappointed for Daly though, had a great work rate and probably more of a strikers instinct than either Hanlan or Ayunga. Was hampered by injuries, changes in managers, fitness and lack of service.
Hope it works out for him at Stevenage, I think he might develop into a decent striker given time.

I'm surprised, best finisher in the club. We are weak upfront before him going. I just hope we have at least 2 forwards lined up now. I think we will live to regret this decision! Best finisher at the club ain’t saying a lot is it ? He didn’t cut the mustard , good luck to him but ultimately he failed ( alongside 90% of the squad ) . Hopefully a few more players currently under contract see their futures elsewhere.

Are there two prolific strikers at this level who would both be realistically available and willing to play in league two next season? I can’t think of any.

He then didn’t get a chance up front after that. Always played the odd few minutes, mainly on the wing. People are saying glad Tomlinson signed a new deal etc. But there is less than a year in age between them. Think people who are written him off, forget that. I would have given him Pre season, to see if he’s fit and if he fitted in when the new signings. Then loaned him out, if he still wasn’t ready.

Not surprised but it’s a bit disappointing that he’s gone because he did have something about him, but not enough to be enough. Can’t imagine he was on a major wage so I hope the free transfer includes some clauses giving us a % of any profit Stevenage makes from him. If JB is bringing lots in I hope we manage to off-load more, the squad needs to be leaner but with more quality. UTG!

JB obviously didnt rate him as he continued to make Daly sit on the bench while continuing to flog Hanlan and Ayunga to death

Must be more to this than meets the eye. I thought he did well and scored a few in the limited game time given.
Certainly one of the better youngsters we've had here in recent years.
Good luck James, I almost expect you to prove JB wrong here.

We don’t know the guy. Perhaps he was one of the ones who didn’t train like a pro (this is mere speculation, I would guess he wasn’t as he was a hard worker)
You just don’t know the back story. It could be because we are getting 2 players who are similar. It could be because Stevenage guaranteed him starts. It could even be money. He might have been on peanuts and Stevenage added a third to it.
Nobody knows, or will ever know. Perhaps he just fell out with Joey. Perhaps he shagged someone’s missus.
The possibilities are endless

Shame it didnt work out, after the first 10 games thought there was a lot of promise there. Loved his refusal to give up and get into the right place. Didnt look the same player after injury. Maybe didnt get on with either of BG's replacements. Good luck to him tho.

It's all been said, good instinct for finisher, never settled or got decent run after injury, so can't blame JB for the decision, may come back to haunt us, we shall see.

Good luck to him, hope that he manages to steer clear of injuries and push on with his career.
