Just saw that announcement. Thought there was definite potential there but it hasn’t worked out. We need a more tried and tested attack so seems a decent decision, though I’d have slipped a sell-on clause in there just in case he flourished. He did his share of chasing and running so can’t fault his effort and on that basis I wish him luck

Barton didn’t rate him, didn’t exactly set the world ablaze for us but still wish him well in the future.
Some more wages spare towards a decent forward now. .

Not surprised really. Was never going to make it. Other than the ability to pick the odd pocket,he never really showed much.

Had a decent run of form early in the season, but been unfortunate with injuries. A shame - as glimpses of a decent, instinctive finisher there. Chasing lost causes and forcing errors - think he might have done alright in League Two.
But we also have other strikers who need development (Hanlan, Ayunga.. plus Walker, Hulbert etc) and we'll need a squad place and wage budget for this EXPERIENCED, PROVEN bagsman we are going to sign....(I hope!!!!!)

Didn't see enough of him did we.... Time will tell if this is a mistake or not.... It'd be very Gas for us to sign 3 strikers. Two are duds, one's a world-beater who gets injured and Daly is banging them in for fun.

Didn’t think he was that bad, don’t think he was that good. Especially not the messiah in waiting some made him out to be.
The fact JB did not want to play him and stuck with Ayunga and Hanlan when they weren’t delivering the goals we needed hints at something not quite right under the surface.
I wonder if Joey questioned his motives, or caught him doing something he would deem unprofessional.
Either way, I’m sure he’ll be scoring goals against us this season - it’s always the way!

I'm surprised, best finisher in the club. We are weak upfront before him going. I just hope we have at least 2 forwards lined up now. I think we will live to regret this decision!

Not sure if im surprised but i am a little disappointed. Agree. When James first arrived his effort and enthusiasm suggested that he would develop into a real asset and he showed glimpses of this up to and including the time he limped off against Darlington in the cup.
Just wasn't able to recreate that in the few minutes he got under Tisdale and Barton. He struggled to make any impression since November.

2 prolific strikers at this level coming in then I hope.
I can't watch another season of Hanlan falling over and the ball bouncing off Ayunga.
Goalscorers incoming hopefully.

Always thought one of the current three strikers would leave with two new ones surely on the way. Not surprised it’s Daly of the three, personally.
Good luck to the bloke.

Think this one might bite Joey on his arse. Never given much of a chance by either Tis or Joey and unlucky with injuries. Good luck to the lad as always seemed to give it is best.
