First time in 35 years I haven’t bought a season ticket Rich. I’ve missed 3 home games already , usually only miss one or two at the most. Performances like orient where we were 3-0 down before half time made me feel glad I hadn’t bothered , I left earlier than I’d ever left a Rovers match. Performances like tonight make me regret not buying one. I want our players to put in the kind of performances that keep making me regret not getting that season ticket. It actually does feel that for the first time in nearly two years we are moving in the right direction. Two years of tippy tapping it sbout in defence trying to play like some kind of Barcelona of the lower divisions got us in to this mess. Now it looks like we are finally coming out of it. I walked out of that Orient game at half time absolutely fuming with the sorry state we were in on and off the pitch, I ventured back today for the first time since and have to say that the performance and character of the team was a million miles away from what it was at that Orient game. Very similar situation as me mate. I came back for the first time after Orient for the Newport game and felt like leaving at half time again but didn’t I stayed until the end. Orient , Newport and today are my last three games. Today was 100 times better than those two put together.

Gutted to drop 2 points after looking well in control after the first 20 minutes, still think theres a lot more to come from this group of players. We certainly got a couple of ballers in Anthony Evans & Sam Finley. Losing Alfie Kilgour seemed to unsettle us at the back & Tranmere took advantage & equalised from the corner, but all in all a decent performance compared to the early home games & Sam Nicholson must be kicking himself for not winning us the game late on. Good to see a lot of fans using the new fanzone , decent selection of food & drink there. Looking at the league table we’re only 4 points outside the playoff pack & hopefully we can close the gap further at Salford Tuesday setting up things nicely for our short trip to Forest green Saturday.

If somebody told me 5 weeks ago the results in the last 4 weeks I would never have believed it, generally happy with todays result, let's just not slip back to the results we were having please Keep approaching football matches on the front foot , forget about playing out with 10 passes before we even get to the half way line like we did for two years and I’ve got no doubt that this squad is capable of a top seven finish. 100% agree. Need to play on the front foot always because we have the players to do that now, Josh G, Sammy N, Thomas, Collins, Evans, Anderson and others. All players happier going forward. First time for a few years we’ve got some pace in the team as well. It would be stupid to play any other way imo. JB has collected most of these so I suppose that’s the way he wants to play, let’s hope so. Teams are worried when there’s pace on both sides so it’s defensively good as well. Looking forward to the next few games! Fingers crossed. UTG!

Evans and Finley our two best players today IMO. Not just today. I said a while ago, both of those 2 are going to be important if we are to do anything this season. Connor Taylor's class too. This is maybe an unpopular opinion but I actually think Nicholson has been disappointing. I think we rate him highly based on last season in L1 more than this season.

What a clown Lee Jones was - moaning about every decision. Shame we didn't finish it off.

I've been left in awe many times of his understanding and reading of play and players and it's a joy to read his views on this forum. A speedy recovery to you SteveK. UTG!

Anthony Evans ……. What a player we have on our hands . Looks better every time I watch him , just needs to add a few more goals from open play to become a great player for this division.

His end product has let him down a bit this season , but he stretches play which is what we need at the moment.

Sammy Nicholson is a good player but i think he’s more of an inside forward , like Bodin was for us than a central striker. He can play there sure but he’s better cutting inside running at players. Obviously in the 352 the only position he can play really is as one of the front two or attacking midfielder in the central 3.

Some great memories at Tranmere back in the Francis era. Excellent pub just outside the ground I thought Tranmere was a really socially deprived area? Never been so I speak from ignorance

Some great memories at Tranmere back in the Francis era. Excellent pub just outside the ground I thought Tranmere was a really socially deprived area? Never been so I speak from ignorance Taken from Wikipedia: Historically, Wirral was wholly within Cheshire; in the Domesday Book, its border with the rest of the county was placed at "two arrow falls from Chester city walls." However, since the passing of the Local Government Act 1972, only the southern third has been in Cheshire, with the rest in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral in the modern county of Merseyside. The main urban development is on the eastern side of the peninsula. Wirral contains both affluent and deprived areas, with affluent areas largely in the west, south and north of the peninsula, and deprived areas concentrated in the east, especially within Birkenhead.

I doubt many will disagree with that view but at the moment he's doing a very good job until we can sign a replacement centre forward, or Pitman can get himself fully fit even if he can we seem to have been performing better since Nicholson has been playing upfront. On a personal note Nicholson has probably added another string to his bow making him even more valuable when it comes to a obtaining a new contract, either with us or elsewhere.
