Can't believe young strikers Phillips and Hulbert released without being given any chance.
Think Rovers will regret tha
Whelan a coaching role maybe?

I'll admit I haven't seen much of any of the younger players but slightly surprised to see virtually the whole development squad (if we still have such a thing) released. Granted going up means they are less likely to break through but still thought there might have been 1 or 2 kept on. As others have said no real surprises in the senior players apart from Whelan, hopefully no news is good news on the likes of Evans & Nicholson. Could be an exciting summer ahead UTG yep disappointing, having seen a bit of several of them thought 3 or 4 would get the chance, shame.

Very, very surprised Glenn Whelan has been let go Or is it that he has asked to go for geographical / family reasons? Might be more him than the club I guess. UTG! Probably this. He has gone out on a high after a great career. A role closer to his family will be on the cards I'd imagine.

I expect both players have been monitored in training . As well as being checked at the clubs where they are on loan. Not sure about Philips but a Gloucester fan I know has said that Hulbert started off on fire but has really fallen off the pace and was lucky to be still in the team.

deep down we all though Wheelo could go especially at 38 now. The biggest shock is surely Nolan, I have no ideal why we signed him So Bristolian

I think Zain Walker contract ends in September with a 1 year trigger . Looked promising early on .

That's a relief. Thought Westbrook may have had his contract cancelled.

So 18 players signed at the start of the season just finished and 18 either released or loans leaving at the end of that season. So another 18 incoming 5 minute warnings to come. Several players such as Sammy Nic still to comit to new contracts so maybe more than 18 incoming? Exciting times with possibly a few fraught moments to come.

Keeping Evo is key. I'd be gutted if he left.

Some of those that will leave this year I would still consider dead wood
Expect Harries to get a half decent club before dropping out the football league

Rodman and Joey seem to have a good relationship and Rodman has a business masters degree and studying something else currently I believe? Coaching role maybe?
I'd be happy with that, but given his age and recent injury record I'd be surprised if he was part of the playing squad; particularly now we're back in L1.
I remember Joe Davis playing in the reserves to help the youngsters. I think a few Prem teams have now added an experienced 33+ year old to the Prem2 league, which is mostly academy or first year pro teams, just to have experience on the pitch. Maybe a bit like cricket when players sign white ball (limited overs) contracts, maybe someone like Rodman could be assured of playing cup games to help any youngsters and then be a squad player for the league? One advantage is his versatility and he is decent in the air and with his non league background, I don't expect he is amongst the bigger wage earners.

With Coutts serving a three match suspension Whelo was guaranteed a start in those games so am disappointed they couldn’t come to some agreement if only a short term deal. For 2 years Hulbert and Phillips looked like they would make it and as forwards are the most highly paid and the most sought after transfer wise they could have saved us a pretty penny. Ultimately they didn’t develop enough as far as the current regime is concerned. If JB gets the development man from Fleetwood his first job will be to ensure Greenslade doesn’t go the same way…and we end up with a homegrown striker that actually makes the grade.

I recommended Ollie as a 7 year old, Southampton and 82 ers wanted him, he is a talented and dedicated pro, who has spent ages in the gym to be physically stronger, he will have the last laugh, gutted for him he and his family are lovely people.
