Strange window ...
Delighted to see some move on to pastures new where they will do well and good to get a few off of the wage bill to be honest.
As for the new players in .... Interesting mix for sure.
Ellery Balcombe - Jurys out but lets see what he can achieve here... Good No2 if needed possibly.
Grant Ward - Could be very good if we can keep him fit. Nice cameo when he came on last weekend and I think he could do very well.
Quansah + Bogarde - Clearly have the skills to play out from the back which JB demands but this is a tough league full of cheats so they will have to get used to the shirt pulling and pushing and niggly stuff very very quickly. Could have two very good young lads here though so lots to encourage and be encouraged about.
McDonald - Absolutely no idea on this chap but we needed a Left Back so let's see. Maybe he will be the hard as nails defender we badly need back there.
Wont be surprised if a few more free agents arrive in the next two weeks - JB loves a free agent so that might beef us up a little more and there was a possible hint from Twitter that yesterday was a manic day ... two Ins is not a manic day so just maybe more to come.
There has been a lot of strengthening in L1 - Some I thought looked great and again some I had absolutely no idea so February / March could see a huge shift in the league table. I think the Top three will potentially start to pull away now unless Plymouth implode again. All i want is 55 points for now.
What does everyone else think?

For me - Players In 5 out of 10 score. Not sure we have improved much at all Players out - 8 out of 10. Mainly for those we kept hold of. Think we let some go we maybe shouldnt in hindsight One more DCM or CM in from free agents maybe required Sinclair to be like a new player in a new position

No idea if the new signings will improve us. Joey has earned enough credit for me to trust him that they will. Not losing Collins or having Coburn recalled is huge and guarantees us league one football next season at the very least (although I expect we’ll have to replace both in the summer).

Underwhelmed. Thought we could push on for promotion at the turn of the year but recent results and signings mean I’d now be happy with consolidation and a push next season.
The recent signings unfortunately have the air of when you play Football Manager and clear out your squad and have run out of budget or can’t get the players you need in so you have to sign just about anyone to avoid playing the youth team in a certain position.

Too early to know, they need a few games before we can really judge.
In terms of names, certainly seems uninspiring but that's not really a good benchmark.

If the new lads play Sat and we win they will be inspired signings, if they play and we lose they will be awful signings. Come on, you know the rules!

It’ll be interesting to hear what JB has to say , I’m guessing he’ll speak today about the signings .

Disappointing.
We've lost 2 CB with at least some experience in L1 & L2, Thomas (49 appearances), Kilgour (139 appearances), and replaced them with 2 youngsters who have never played a professional match.
We've lost a LB who had experience in L1 & the Championship (44 appearances), with a Stockport reject who has spent his career in L2.
We've also lost and failed to replace Harvey Saunders, who was a useful impact sub, unsettled defences & always gave 100%.
The only position we look marginally stronger is midfield where we replaced Westbrooke with Ward. However, only Rossiter has looked L1 class and I was therefore hoping for at least 2 more.
Time will tell but personally, I don't think our squad looks stronger now than it did on January 1st and I think we might struggle to get to 52-55 points.
Hopefully we can sign a couple of quality free agents to alleviate my fears.

On paper not great, but I’ve never been a fan of judging players before they’ve kicked a ball for us, roll on Saturday!

Bogarde sounds as though he could be promising. Saw a few Tranmere fans Tweet good things about MacDonald "You've got a good one there" etc. Not a particularly exciting window, but will wait until the new signings have done their talking on the pitch. I wouldn't be surprised if one or two free agents are added to the squad, particularly after reading Pirate's post.

Quite satisfied in the end , first we’ve moved players off the wage bill who were never going to feature in JB’s plans, 3 new defenders have come in , the lad from Stockport is only on a short contract to the end of the season, so if he wants to earn a new one after he should be doing his upmost to impress & also we’ve have Aaron Collins still in the building, as in previous ownership’s that may have not been the case.

Still too early to judge. Balcombe, quansah and ward have played one game which didn’t go to plan. Two late signings yesterday who I doubt have even had a training session yet. What I do remember is being over the moon when we signed westbrooke, oztumer and a few others, and think meh when we signed Taylor and anderson etc. Always best to judge after half a season having had time to get settled

I know he wasn’t incredible but I can’t understand getting rid of Saunders and not bringing in anyone else wide with some pace? Makes no sense.

First impressions are that it was a bit of an underwhelming transfer window, however, it’s hard to judge until we’ve seen the newbies play so let’s see how they go.
The success or otherwise of a window is have we come out the other side as a stronger squad or a weaker squad. I’m not convinced either way - yet.

I know he wasn’t incredible but I can’t understand getting rid of Saunders and not bringing in anyone else wide with some pace? Makes no sense. I guess it makes sense if Sinclair and/or Evans were playing further forward. He does have that bit of pace that can be useful off the bench, though. A dimension that we lack.

Plus I don’t think we actively got rid of him - we just didn’t stand in his way of an opportunity for regular first team football. I guess we made a decision that receiving a few and not wanting an unhappy squad member made sense.

I think only time will tell. If we win the next two then any thoughts of the dreaded r word will go. If we continue our dip then the panic will grow.
One other consideration is whoever we have brought in is competition for places. This might make some existing squad members buck their ideas up.
