Get rid of Balanta, Easter, Mildenhall, Blissett and Gosling.
Get Lines signed up, with Della Verde and Dawson/the Grimsby winger who gave Browner a nightmare. Then get John Lewis in from Grimsby. Far better than Blissett.

Mildenhall Balanta Clarke (Loan) Blissett (Loan)
I'd keep Gosling, he's got a bit about him and will improve with age. If we bring in Dawson or a similar RW to push him, he'll only get better.

Far better than Blissett. Mackreth? He's very hot and cold in my opinion. Having said that, most wingers are at lower league level. I don't think the Grimsby fans are all that happy with him. John-Lewis is a real handful, I certainly would like to see him at the Gas, but also Ollie Palmer has scored some real corkers for them this year, and is a beast. I think taking him off for Pittman was a mistake yesterday. I definitely agree that signing Lines up is a must, what a class act. Balanta ought to go, he has done very little to warrant a new contract. Easter is a tricky one, as he's not done a lot, but that is only due to injury. If he can get himself fit, he'd be an asset to us I'm sure.

I would keep Monky. The combination down that side of Parkes, Brown and Monky is where a lot of our threat has come from. Bliss was bought for 80k so I can't see him going anywhere, although he has to improve. Keep Gosling.

I'd just get rid of Balanta, Trotman and Bell-Baggie to be honest, think the others have something to offer.
My problem is where to recruit - central midfield if Lines is added is fine, think the defence is fine too although perhaps some back-up in the place of Trotman would be nice, left-sided central defender who can also cover for Brown. Two wingers essential although I wouldn't be surprised if DC used the loan market again, and another striker needed for me. But some would argue the four of Taylor, Harrison, Bliss and Easter are good to go. Maybe a loanee to add strength?
Goalkeeping situation will be interesting next year, wouldn't be surprised if we stuck with the current two. I don't blame Puddy for a shakey first half yesterday, he performed excellently after the first 20 or so minutes though, took some important crosses.

I wouldn't make any more changes than are necessary.
Need a right wing, another forward, Bliss out on loan. With bench back up to 7 players one or two more squad players
I don't get Balanta and Easter I hope is fit by pre season.
Other than that, give them all the chance to prove themselves. There's a team spirit there and that counts for a lot

I really do think that should me undervalue Monkhouse ability and role this year - he has played a vital role this year in my opinion and will be an asset next season Yep, the most undervalued player in the team, istm. Has done an excellent job.

Damn we have some ruthless fans.
Players haven't even finished off the winners champagne yet and you're already throwing them overboard.
Even Lord Sugar would wait a few days!

Agree with most on here. Would release Puddy, Balanta, Monkhouse, Bell-Baggie and Ollie Clarke for definite (can't see that Clarke will ever make the first team). Sounds as if Mildenhall has triggered the extension but I think we need another keeper as well. Would trust DC's judgement on McChrystal and Gosling, think they would be okay as squad players. Could Trotman partner Parkes next season? Would be more than happy to see Blissett transfer listed or loaned out if possible. Signing a right-back, two wingers and at least one forward is a priority, as well as tying Lines down to a contract. Does anybody know when the retained list is being released?

Yes I like Monkhouse too, he has done his bit for us this season but no room for sentiment if we are to get promoted again and I am sure that is how DC will see it too done far, far,far more than just his bit for us this season. In general I'd said don;t break up a winning team and a winning dressing room. The issue for me is more value for money than ability. I think almost every squad player could be ok in Lge 2. But of course if they are not really value for money [e.g. balanta & trots maybe?] then it could be wise to let them go. We'll probaby never really know how much they earn but if any of the above were cheap we could keep nearly all of them. I REALLY rate Trotman, but hisinjury has been worrying of course. Let's not forget he was immense for the first half of the season. I would imaginethat Gos, Puddy would be on quite low wages. Monkhosue was only released form a poor league 2 team last season because he wasn't good enough. He may have provided some goals and a couple of good passes but alot of the time he is a waste of a player he barely moves, always bottles 50/50 chances and generally just seems to disappear

That being the key word. We'll soon find out I guess. No, I only used the word apparently because a Rovers fan on the other forum said it was in print, in a recent Rovers programme. I don't have that programme, so I have to trust his word that what he wrote is 1OO% accurate. I certainly don't imagine the programme is wrong. I'm not suggesting it is gossip, or room for a dig. I will find his post and post it here. Here it is - seems pretty conclusive to me - Does anyone have the programme to double, triple confirm? badhand May 7, 2015 at 9:36pm badhand said: Mildy was the featured player in the Rovers v Eastleigh programme. One section says ... He has just triggered the required number of games to activate another year on his contract; (Mildy quote) "I'm very happy with that and I feel as strong as I did ten years ago, so I hope to be here for a few more seasons beyond that." gasheads.org/thread/3103/steve-arnold?page=2

I think we're going to get a new GK, so one of Puddy and Mildenhall has to go if we bring someone in. Most of the squad could do a job in League 2, so I think the only certainties to leave are Balanta, Bell-Baggie, Clarke and Trotman i.e. those who haven't really played or are on high wages. Whether the others stay or go will depend on who we can bring in. I wouldn't be surprised to see either Blissett or Easter leave as I can't see either displacing Harrison or Taylor in the XI.
I'd keep Monkhouse unless we can sign someone better. I'd also like to see Sinclair stay - while Mansell and Lines are ahead of him in the pecking order, Mansell is aging, and Sinclair has the kind of attitude that managers like DC love.

I don't understand why people want to get rid of Trotman when him and Parkes were playing together we were at are best defensively that we've been all season and as long as his injury problems are resolved I feel that he is more than good enough to be one of are starting cb's next season

gosling, balanta, blissett, puddy, ollie clarke, easter. Easter signed an 18 month contract I believe, reckon we're probably stuck with him as I can't see any club that can afford him wanting him, or any club that want him affording his wages.

I'm guessing we will see Lockyer playing along side Parkes next season assuming we keep them both.
I'd like to keep Brown and Leadbitter.
Mansell, Lines and Sinclair would be nice.
Taylor and Harrison also.
I like Monkhouse too but he's not getting any younger and I think he'd like to go north.
