So the official twitter just followed James Clarke. Footballer at Woking. First signing?

Decent enough utility defender, clearly the right attitude too. Happy enough with that as a first addition, bet he's cheap as chips too.
Surprised Compton isn't a done deal too.

I believe Leadbitter could become the best player of the current group so I'd be very happy with a squad player like this

I can't see any other reason for the Rovers Twitter page to follow him unless we were signing him. Fingers crossed this will be the first of a few!
I wonder if that spells the end for Trotman if he does indeed sign?

You've also always got the possibility with these part time players that with full time training/coaching they could blossom in to much better players than they currently are.

There's a lot of players in non-league that are better than the level they play at but may have other business interests or careers that they don't want to jeopardise by becoming a full time footballer. They could get released within a season and be left with nothing.

I said this in September last year - semi-pro footballers appear to be a damn sight more professional than so called 'professional footballers'.

Just pulled up inside the mem in DC's car about 5 minutes ago! If DC is on his holidays - why has James Clarke stolen his car?

I assumed that things were waiting for DC to get back off holiday . Thursdays always used to be the day when the bigger announcements got made - so today seems to be it.

Woking fan's view:
Would be disappointing if it's true (that he's signing for BRFC). He was one of a few players who didn't re-sign at the same time as everyone else, presumably to look for a FL contract (with us waiting if he didn't get offered anything) - fits in with what he's doing so whether it's genuine or invented who knows. He's solid, played 30 games as a result of frequent injuries but his absence was costly for us at times. Quite fast and is a useful right-back as well as his natural position at centre-back, although he can look a bit suspect when attacking down the flanks (which could be more costly against better opposition in League 2.) Often pulling shirts as well which gives away lots of needless fouls. A top-level Conference defender for sure and he'd certainly do a good job for you but I personally doubt he can play consistently in the Football League currently, but it remains to be seen of course.
