The lad works hard, and does all the right things.......except sticking the ball in the net, which let's be honest, is the No.1 thing a striker should do.

DC has got a bit of a stubborn streak.
Really, really hoping we don't see it here.
LJ has spent half his time here on his arse. Not strong enough, scored no goals and not strong enough. He also gets pushed off the ball far too easily and is not strong enough. He's just not strong enough for league 1 football imo.

His shout for a free kick (? ) on Sunday said it all. It was never going to be given in a million years.

An excellent decoy striker, almost as good as Chris Beardsley.

Has everyone forgotten the facts?
He still has a year on his contract at Posh, so 1) posh might want a fee for him - yeah, good luck with that..., and 2) given Posh's tactic of paying lower lge players decent money to come to them rather than pay more money for player on their way down, there may be little opportunity to get him 'on the cheap' even if we wanted to. Might be more worth his while to see out his posh contract & then be a free agent. If that happens posh will presumably loan him out again in the hope of getting a contribution to his wages or even a hatful like of goals and some sudden value.

Out of interest has he ever scored for Posh? I don't even know if he's ever played for them?

Even some reactionary old guys near me on sat got that one right (most else they spouted for 90mins was crud). We all had to admit it wasn't a foul (certainly not one that ref would contemplate). The fact they scored not long after is meaningless. James couldn't beat him for pace, couldn't beat him by cleverness and couldn't beat him by strength. All the above are rather worrying.

Played 19 times for Peterborough and scored 1 goal, why everyone considers he is a striker is a mystery to me because he has always been considered a midfielder/winger which is where he played for Hartlepool and what he was considered to be when in 2012 he was being watched by a few premiership side including Newcastle. So maybe fans are being a bit harsh on him when he is being played not in his natural position, debate

If we sign him, perhaps we could pretend to really like him and then the Teds would come and sign him! They do have history buying up our strikers!

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say I think we will sign him as one of 3 new strikers this summer on a free (Peterborough have told him he is to find a new club and is released) and he will turn out to be a good squad player .... He will score goals next season and I'll stick my neck out and say I think he'll get 5-10 goals in 25 appearances and will get around 5 assists....
I see a lot of potential in him - I think he's been unlucky in not playing much first half of the season (odd 5 mins here or there) and was rotated second half and with pressure of everyone saying he had to be Matty T.... With pre-season with us, new season and new slate I think he'll come good

The lad never looks like scoring, he has been awful, why on earth would DC sign him, when at the weekend he was berating the fact he needs 3/4 new strikers, LJ is not new and does not score goals, ffs

Considering an agreement was made with Peterborough when James was taken on loan, I doubt Peterborough would've transfer listed him if Rovers have already activated the purchase agreement. A return to the North East at Fourth Division/Conference level is what is needed to get Luke's career back on track I feel.

Awful at Vale,Walsall and Coventry.Clean through at the Ricoh and fell over.Jermaine showed him Sunday how to finish.Need to improve our strike power way beyond what Luke James offers.Hope BB stays.
