I'd take Luke back. I know he never scored but he assisted in several goals and his skills are worthy of our team. To be fair to him most of the time we pumped high balls to him and expected him to reach his full five foot, f**k all, and win the ball. Maybe if he was here permanently they could learn to play it to his feet and see what he could do. But, at the end of the day, we have no idea what DC is thinking so I am happy to leave it up to him. I think he knows a bit more about it than the rest of us. I just can't wait until the start of the next season. What the heck am i going to do on my Saturdays until August? I think everybody knows more than you based on this post Just my opinion based on the fact that DC signed him. Maybe you are just trying to live up to your name!

Assists are an almost completely meaningless stat. You could beat 5 players on your way to the byline and play an inch perfect pass to the far post where your teammate is waiting unmarked, only for them to scuff it 6 inches out and for another team mate to bundle it in to the net and your pal that's missed an absolute sitter gets an assist against their name. That's why it's such a divisive game - rarely do stats tell the whole story. I disagree. Your scenario could happen once, maybe twice, but the balance of probability over a season is that if you have a high number of assists, you've been a big asset to the team. You could equally say that goal stats are meaningless as it could hit you on the arse and bounce in whilst you are turning the other way to chat to the ref. My example was exaggerated to illustrate a point. You're right that something like that happens very rarely but I find that often the player credited with the assist isn't the player that's had the majority of the influence on the goal. It seems that different stat compilers use different parameters for what is considered an assist as well. To me it's just too vague. Having said that I agree that a player that racks up a high number of assists is likely to be an asset so perhaps it's not completely useless.

Assuming those figures are correct then Moore having just the 1 assist is a shocker, although not surprising, given his main role in the team is to create chances, although Monty didn't do a lot better. Didn't get enough time in the first team. He can be a quality player when he wants to be, I fully expect him to feature a lot more next season. Given only Monty was the only other option he probably made an appearance of some kind in most games.

He made 12 starts and 15 appearances off the bench with quite a few of those being not enough minutes to make an impact. He definitely didn't get the chance he deserved this year.

Do you watch Rovers? If so, how can you say Moore deserved more game time, in some games he played around the turn of the year you had to wonder why DC had selected him. The fact he played in 27 games and managed just the one assist sums his season up.

Sounds good on paper, but how are we supposed to compete with them dishing out 3 year contracts to unproven non league players. I'm not sure that is the road we want to be going down to be honest.

What league are Stockport in, national league north isn't it? Quite a step up to league 1. Posh seem to have more money than sense dishing out all these long contracts, just look at the Luke James situation that worked out well for them didn't it. I just hope that we don't get stuck with him for another season even Emile Heskey looked prolific compared to Luke!

That's all well and good but I don't believe that is what this club is about. It is similar to the way Chelsea operate. We seem to want a squad of players who will all be given a chance to fight for the shirt. Some clubs almost treat players as pure investments it seems.

Nothing wrong with that, players use clubs as stepping stone so why not, its how clubs like Posh survive considering their fanbase isn't great.
Posh are willing to take risks, DC doesn't seem to. There is no right or wrong, everyone goes about things in different ways. I just wish DC took a gamble in January to replace the snake.
Unless you have a really good scouting network like Southampton you have to speculate to accumulate or stay in the shadows. Its very rare to make money on free transfers like we did with the snake

Do they expect to get money for him, or can someone sign him for a couple of goats and half a dozen chickens? You could say he's going to go for chicken feed.

I'm sure there are plenty of players with his goalscoring record that wont cost a penny.
I guess Posh at least have to try and recoup some of the extortionate transfer fee they paid for him. cant see many takers though.

I can see Hartlepool coming in for him on a seasons long loan, let's be fair that's the only club he has scored goals for? Although I'm not sure that they will be able to afford him now after relegation poor old Jeff Stelling!

Yeah I doubt Hartlepool would be able to afford a decent percentage of his wages which I imagine Posh are trying to get rid of.
Maybe they will take a relatively small fee for him, he should be on decent wages given the amount Posh spent on him, otherwise he can sit on his contract for another year. Whether DC will take him on remains to be seen.

I'm at a loss as to how this EFL 'Fair play Rules' work with regard to playing budgets. If I believe Wikipedia, Posh already have 30 pros on their books including another two just signed albeit on 'frees'. I'd bet they've had to pay agent fees (probably up front signing on fees) etc. How can they have all these players on their books with an average attendance figure of around 5.5k. They are certainly quick of the mark and have already as I've said signed two potentially good strikers - we are being left in their wake - what is the attraction of The Posh?

Back in her Spice girls days, definitely yes.
These days I would probably snap her in half..
